How to Create More Space Through Decluttering Like a Mother with Allie Casazza
MOMS Life Made Simple
"The system that I've developed is not about limiting. It's about creating space for you to fill with whatever you want, rather than life kind of happening to you your day, kind of coming at you, more 'I'm the author of how things are going.' You're more in charge and then giving yourself space for spontaneity for the crap hit the fan, for life to happen as it does. You have space for it though. You're not so stretched super thin on a daily basis to where when life does happen now you're in survival mode." Allie Casazza teaches all about how to simplify and create space in your homes and mom life. www.chanelleneilsoncoaching.com Instagram @chanelleneilsoncoaching Facebook @chanelleneilsoncoaching Get my free Morning Routine Checklist for Moms

If I was braver I would show you a picture of my closet floor at this very moment in solidarity with all those slowly being overtaken by the clutter in their homes. But I’m not that brave, so let’s move on. Ha! Allie Casazza has been on Good Morning America, The Today Show, and a whole lot of other places talking about ways to keep our stuff from stealing our joy. Coming from a place of deep stress and frustration in her own home, she realized that what takes up our space takes up our time. She discovered she was spending all her time maintaining her stuff. Sounds vaguely familiar, right? Allie shares with us today her best tips for decluttering our houses one room at a time. She encourages us to set the intention for the room and align everything in it with that purpose (note: the intention for my closet is unclear at this time). Don’t miss our full-service show today on ways to declutter our kids’ stuff, our own stuff, the sentimental stuff, and all the rest that’s tripping us up (quite literally).

Tune in to hear more about: Allie’s journey on how she become the go-to “minimalist mom” How to take ownership of your life by taking ownership of your space The ways being a mother impact your sense of identity The importance of setting the intent for each room in your home. Favorite quotes: 1. If you can take ownership over your space, you can take ownership over your life. 2. You being a mom is not your identity. It is a piece of what you’re here to do, just a piece. A really beautiful important piece of it. 3. There’s always going to be some level of mess even if you declutter. So what can you do to stop taking on all the pressure on yourself to maintain the house and clean it up? Put your kids in charge of their own stuff, set boundaries, do chore charts, do consequences. Whatever it is that fits in your parenting style. Set it up in some way so you're not the only one doing everything. 4. It’s about connecting with who you are in each room and setting up your space to support you. When we do that, we have an intention for the space and that helps us make decisions about the stuff. 5. If clutter is always unmade decisions, then declutter is to make decisions. In this episode I answer this question: I’m setting up my business, what are the most important systems I need to build right now? (44:24) Great things we discussed: 1. Allie Casazza 2.
