Chris Dodge (Trappist & No Corporate Beer for Decibel Magazine)

Vox&Hops Metal Podcast

A conversation about his first beer, his craft beer journey, the soundtrack of his youth, Trappist, No Corporate Beer, Metal Brewers & his hangover cure.Throughout this interview Chris was drinking Brouwerij West's "Bounce IPA". This West Coast style IPA was hopped with Citra, Mosaic & Centennial hop was piney, dank & ultra crushable. It clocked in with a 7.1% ABV.&Matt was drinking a brew he received as a gift from Jorge A. Villanueva of the Vox&Hops Thirsty Thursday Gang. This delicious gift was Bellwoods Brewery's "Donkey Venom" the Barrel-Aged Dark Sour. This complex sour brew was tart, slightly sweet & had subtle hints of Caramel. It clocked in with a mighty 8.5% ABV.Shout Out to Dan Klajncar, another member of the Thirsty Thursday Gang, for inspiring me to setup this interview!!Photo Credit:Jvh013PhotoTrappist:https://trappist213.bandcamp.com/No Corporate Beer for Decibel Magazine:https://www.decibelmagazine.com/category/no-corporate-beer/Brouwerij West:https://www.brouwerijwest.com/Bellwoods Brewery:http://bellwoodsbrewery.com/Jvh013Photo:https://www.facebook.com/jvh013photo/Sound Talent Media:www.SoundTalentMedia.comSupport the Vox&Hops Podcast:https://voxandhops.bigcartel.com/ Learn more about your ad choices. Episode 605: Beer Me, Please - interview with Chris Dodge (Spazz, Despise You, Trappist)

Radioactive Metal

Once we sat down with grindcore/powerviolence trailblazer Chris Dodge (Spazz, Depise you, Infest), we knew this was going to be a unique episode. Apart from all these amazing projects he's plied his trade with, Mr. Dodge has left his mark on a variety of other aspects in the aggressive music community. So we sat down and had one helluva chat with the man. We discussed all his musical output, hailing from the Bay Area, Slap a Ham Records, and his love of specialty beers. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we take inspiration from Mr. Dodge's "No Corporate Beer" column in Decibel magazine and do a our own taste test from some of our local(ish) brews. Musically, we crank a bunch of Chris' projects as well as D.O.A.'s Joey Shithead's tribute to the front liners against this crisis. Big Horns especially to them!!
