6: A Tale of Two Deans w/ Harvey Young and George Brown
Fourth Wall: the podcast
Hiya! For the entire month of August, we’ll be highlighting experiences of diversity in the world of educational theatre- because after all, that first day of fall classes(virtual, hybrid, or otherwise) is right around the corner. To kick us off, we sit down with George Brown and Harvey Young, who are both deans of the fine and performing arts colleges at their respective universities. Listen as we discuss the realities of running a theatre program, including the deans' responsibilities to cultivate a safe place to learn and grow, faculty accountability, student empowerment, and more on this incredible(yeah, it's pretty damn tasty) episode of Fourth Wall: the podcast. Do you have an experience to share about diversity in higher education or any other topics we’ve discussed on 4W? We wanna read that shit! Send it to us so we can get your perspective and possibly share it on the show! → firstname.lastname@example.org. Ep 21: [George Brown] First Deal $120K within 90 Days
Jamel Gibbs Business & Investing Podcast
My student partner George Brown can finally utter the words, "My First Real Estate Check". It took him 90 days and a lot ups and downs, but he did it... and he did it BIG! Check out this special podcast episode to see how George finally closed his first deal!
George Brown is 67 and lives in Houston, Texas. He has been running since the 1970's and ran his first marathon in Japan when he was a US Marine. Since then he has completed over 50 marathons and completed the Trans Rockies a 120 mile six day stage race. We chat about maintaining longevity in the sport, embracing and enjoying running at the front, mid or back of the pack. Highly introverted, running allows George time for contemplation and reflection and racing allows him a time to connect with other like minded individuals and share the challenges, struggles and triumphs of the trail. I met George at the Transelkirks Stage Race in 2018 and he has become a dear friend, it was so great to reconnect with him and learn more about his story.Support the show (https://www.buymeacoffee.com/Runningdivine)
