Amy Klobuchar’s Super Weird Monday Night Football Bet + Ron DeSantis Sets Fundraising Record

The Dawn Stensland Show

Hour 2 of The Dawn Stensland Show: Andrew Stuttaford—Editor of National Reviews’ Capital Matters—joins the show to discuss his recent editorial, “Electric Vehicles: California, Central Planning, and the Road to Ruin.” Stuttaford explains that California’s decision to ban the sale of new gasoline-powered vehicles by 2035 will likely be adopted by other states across the country, with New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania already considering the policy. However, in order to create such an enormous number of electric vehicles in such a short period of time, United States consumers will need to be more reliant upon China and the lithium-ion batteries they produce. Would the green movement allow for more domestic mining in order to collect the raw materials necessary for large-scale EV production? The Philadelphia Eagles will host their home opener against the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football. Senators Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and Bob Casey (D-PA) have placed a friendly wager on the game—if the Vikings win, Klobuchar will receive Philly soft pretzels, if the Eagles win, Casey will receive Lake Superior smoked trout. Who wants smoked trout? According to the Daily Wire, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis “has raised a historic $177.4 million”—which is more than any other governor in history. California Governor Gavin Newsome, comparatively, has raised less than $7 million, while President Joe Biden has raised nearly $12 million. In response to Gov. Gavin Newsom’s (D-CA) suggestion that Republican governors have engaged in kidnapping by transporting undocumented migrants to sanctuary city, Ron DeSantis (R-FL) jokingly suggested that Newsome’s “hair gel is interfering with his brain function.” While appearing on ABC’s This Week, New York City Mayor Eric Adams told Jonathan Karl that the number of undocumented migrants pouring into the U.S. is a “crisis.” However, he blamed Republican governors—and not the policies of the Biden Administration.
