Karl Borko

Karl Borko, a teacher at Start HS, and two other instructors from TPS schools are using their own time to create visors for face shields used by health care workers in local hospitals. Using 3-D printers at home they are printing and prepping visors that will then be donated to local hospitals to help cover the PPE shortages.

Karl Borko teaches precision engineering at Start HS for TPS. His group of students and others at the school have been involved with NASA in the development of a rover for the Mars program. Karl stopped by to speak with Fred about the progress and brought along the chassis. Classes at Start are also giving back to the community with a Sleep In Heavenly Peace bed build this weekend. Toledo Public Schools' 2nd annual Career Connect Expo is focused on providing high school students more information about course offerings and training available in our area.
