Architecting Magic and Trust - Interview with Mark Stuart - EP 32

In Trust

What’s the connection between leadership, trust, and magic? What happens when we, as leaders, create more space for magic? Who better to discuss these questions with than the Architect of Magic himself, Mark Stuart? So that’s just what we did! Mark is the Founder and Executive Artistic Director of Mark Stuart Dance Theatre. Mark’s award-winning choreography and performances have been featured on Broadway, in films, commercials, and in print. He served as the Associate Choreographer of BANDSTAND on Broadway (recognized with the TONY Award for Best Choreography) and he created, directed, and choreographed the award nominated Off-Broadway dance-musical STANDARD TIME: When Change Comes. Mark is a coach for Seth Godin’s altMBA and is a four-time Director of the World Musical Concert series at Tokyo’s world famous Theatre Orb. We enjoyed a magical conversation with Mark where we talked about how trust is like the game of Jenga, how hard discussions are vulnerable discussions and how these build a resilient community, the one question that has helped Mark trust in himself and that gave him the freedom to think differently, and much more. If you’re interested in leading in a way that creates opportunities where what previously was thought impossible becomes possible, then you’ll want to listen to this interview with Mark Stuart! ----------- Show Notes: Mark Stuart on Instagram Mark’s email Frankie Manning Hinton Battle Teaser video of STANDARD TIME: When Change Comes Sponsored by: Spotlight Trust From the co-founders of Spotlight Trust comes the new book The Future Is Trust: Embracing the Era of Trust-Centered Leadership. 068 - Mark Stuart

The Pivot

You probably know Mark Stuart as the lead singer of the massively successful band Audio Adrenaline. But he’s also a husband, a father, a new author, a divorcee, and a man deeply in love with the nation of Haiti. And, he lives in an RV….Audio Adrenaline and The Normals, my first band, were actually label-mates around the turn of the century. Obviously, they were a huge success and we, we were not. The paths of our two bands rarely crossed. But I can tell you, the few times we did connect, we would ALWAYS walk away talking about how incredibly kind they were. I see after this conversation, that we were surely correct. What might be the most surprising, though, is how the band ended and what Mark’s like looked like afterwards. This is a story of a guy who lost everything, and how that’s where God met him. Mark is a passionate, honest guy with a renewed lease on life.I loved getting to connect with Mark and I hope you find this as encouraging and eye-opening as it was for me.For more info on Ben, check out his website:https://www.markstuartmedia.com/Or get his book on Amazon:https://www.amazon.com/dp/1400213290?tag=nelsonbooks-20Andrew's links:http://www.andrewosenga.com/ https://www.everybodypivots.com/--- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/the-pivot/support
