**REPLAY** Honoring Your Body’s Cycles with Kate Northrup — Glambition® Radio Episode 265 with Ali Brown

Glambition® Radio with Ali Brown

Today I’m resharing last summer’s fantastic Glambition Radio interview with Kate Northrup, author of ‘Do Less’. Why? Because one year later, this conversation takes on an entirely NEW meaning and context, and it’s exactly what we as women need to hear right now... If there’s one constant in life that women must attune to when the world feels so heavy, it’s the ‘inner knowing’ of our bodies. This is the place from which all truth is processed + received (not to mention how we generate profit, which you’ll hear in the episode). Today on Glambition Radio, Kate enlightens us on the eternal wisdom and silent power of our body’s natural cycles, and how we can rely on this innate rhythm to enhance our daily lives. From increasing business profit with ease, to understanding what creates optimal health for us and our family, and even how to plan our days… this is one conversation that could seriously transform how you operate in the world. Kate is the author of two books including ‘Do Less’, and ‘Money: A Love Story’. Her adventures—and misadventures—with wellness and prosperity, recognizing truth, being raised by an ‘outlier’ mother (whom you’ll recognize as a pioneer in women’s wellness), and nurturing her own relationship with her body’s wisdom combined for her revolutionary approach to productivity and energy management for ambitious women. On this episode of #GlambitionRadio, you’ll hear: How women’s inner rhythms carry a wisdom that far surpasses the logic and sense of our minds (truly, thinking only gets you so far… and can actually hold you up!) The incredibly useful and predictable inner-cycles that drive both women AND men—and how tapping into these four phases can have a massive impact on wellness, abundance, and ease Why Kate’s unconventional upbringing was a harbinger of womanly wisdom—and how questioning everything helped her recognize the ONLY truth that matters (this was important in 2020, and especially so NOW) Why relaxation is the key to receptivity—and how Kate’s business experienced a shocking increase in profit with LESS effort when she relied on THIS cycle (have you tried this yourself?) The secret ‘code’ that will crack open life’s operating manual (great news: it’s already installed within each of us!) Head to Apple Podcasts now to listen to this episode of Glambition Radio (or download it for later). And come join in the conversation on Instagram or Facebook. XO, Ali P.S. I would love your review! Do Less and Say No with Kate Northrup

The You-est You™ Podcast

As an entrepreneur, bestselling author, speaker, and mother, Kate Northrup has built a multimedia educational platform that reaches hundreds of thousands globally. She’s committed to supporting ambitious women to light up the world without burning themselves out. Kate teaches data and soul-driven time and energy management practices that result in saving time, making more money, and experiencing less stress through her Do Less Planner, her programs, and her books, Do Less and Money: A Love Story. Do Less was named one of the 100 Best Time Management Books of All Time. Kate’s work has been featured by The Today Show, The New York Times, Harvard Business Review, Yahoo! Finance, Forbes, Women’s Health, Glamour, and more. Kate lives with her husband and their daughters in Florida.  DO LESS For all of you high-achieving, ambitious and uber productive folk out there, this is going to feel very uncomfy. As a recovering overachiever myself, i.e. workaholic, I know firsthand what it's like to measure feelings of worthiness, productivity and what seems like happiness based on your amount of 'doing'. We're here to tell you that this is NOT the route to inner peace, joy or success. Kate talked all about how she was smack in the face with this question during the hardest year of her life when her first baby needed a lot of her attention and all she had was enough energy to feed herself, and her daughter. Interestingly enough, during this time of being less productive was also her most successful year financially. She started to ask herself, 'Who am I if I'm not productive?'. This question changed her life as she started to unpack the myth about needing to be super duper productive to be successful. She started to focus on the 20% of her business that was most important that gets 80% of the results. This is called the Pareto principle, where 80% of the results typically come from 20% of your efforts. She started to see how obsessed our culture is with being busy and that we're immersed in a programming that doesn't value rest. Kate decided to create values that are not based on her productivity, and this is much of what she teaches today. YOUR WORTHINESS IS NOT WHAT YOU THINK As mentioned above, a big ah-ha for Kate, was realizing that her worthiness (and yours as well) is not based on productivity or doing. As girls, many of us were taught that our worthiness was dependent on being pleasing to others. We would please others to prove we exist and are worthy. Until recent, women have been valued for more beyond giving pleasure, having a home and raising a family. Growing up with this kind of belief system left many of us women feeling the need to be people pleasers, have zero boundaries and work at all costs to be seen and successful. In my life, this leads to a total mental, physical and spiritual breakdown. Kate shared about her breakdown story as well. I loved Kate's definition of how she values herself and her time, she said that 'her life is in service of the Divine, of something greater. You can't be of service and there for everyone, we have to start by saying no.'  JUST SAY NO For those of us recovering people pleaser (hello!), creating boundaries and saying no to others can feel like poking your eye out with your dinner fork. It's not fun and it takes practice. The problem is that we don't have unlimited hours and we need to start following our own inner navigation system. Kate discussed how she uses her menstrual cycle and the moon in a very beautiful and powerful way to track and create personal policies that help create boundaries around her time and energy. Kate has created a daily energy tracker to see what has worked well, what didn't and focus on her learnings. For example, she realized that one of her favorite ways to spend time off was to go to the beach with her daughters. Today she has Fridays off for beach time with her children. She has created these policies for her business and personal life, and they have allowed her to expand, reach more people and only say yes to what really moves her. Side note, I am grateful to the moon and back that she said yes to this podcast, as this was an absolutely enlightening and delish convo. To take Kate's 8-day free THE NO CHALLENGE, go to https://katenorthrup.com/no  (I'll certainly be doing this one!)   IT'S TIME TO TRUST YOURSELF When I asked Kate what moved her most and what she felt was her legacy, she said without missing a beat, 'to get women into their bodies to trust themself. Our bodies are wired to give birth and protect life.' It's time to trust ourselves and see that you are the embodiment of the Divine. This is all that truly matters. What we do in the day to day has nothing to do with a life well lived, it's about full embodiment of your sacred gifts, heart and inner calling. 159: How to level up by doing less - with Kate Northrup

The Simplifiers Podcast

What if I told you it was possible to level up by doing less? Would you give it a go? So many of us have been conditioned over the years that MORE is the answer. More hours in front of your computer. More hustle, more grind, more exertion equals more success. So, umm… how’s that working out for you? For me… not so great. So, let’s talk about doing less, instead.   My special guest today is Kate Northrup and she’s simplifying how to level up by doing less. She taps into the wisdom gained by studying regenerative farming and gardening and it turns out, these lessons learned can be applied to your work and life, just the same. Here’s how.  My special guest today is Kate Northrup and she’s simplifying how to level up by doing less. We tackle and simplify all aspects of it, including: Which areas of your business that you’ll want to examine first, in order do less and simplify What the 4 best practices of ‘regenerative farming’ are and how they can be applied to creating a ‘regenerative’ business, rather than a  just ‘sustainable’ one composting mess less  no spray  planting cover crops How to create a repeatable, provable marketing system without chasing after the “new, shiny object” or subscribing to the “hustle harder” mentality When you want to simplify to amplify your revenue, how to do it - spoiler alert: it’s all about creating a symbiotic ecosystem of offerings …and ultimately, we talked about the ways she found healing and growth after experiencing a year like 2020. What big shifts she made that helped her and her husband to level up. I feel it in my core… Now is the time to do less and simplify, especially as we start to re-emerge throughout 2021 in a post-pandemic world. This is not only a year for healing but also a year to reexamine how we structure our lives and how we run our businesses. If 2020 was a year for reflection, then 2021 is a year for rebuilding. So I encourage you to take out your journal and pen, jot down some notes, and spark a conversation with someone after listening to this one.  Not that you need my permission, but I bet you’re totally ready to level up and do less. So, let’s make TODAY the day we do it. Q: Are you ready to level up by doing less? If yes, this one is for you. It’s time to #DoTheThing! ---- Show notes available with all LINKS mentioned here: https://thesimplifiers.com/podcast/kate-northrup-level-up-by-doing-less
