Norman Brown is a Grammy award-winning contemporary jazz guitarist who has sold over 2 million albums in his career. He has been called “one of the greatest, most articulate guitarists out there” by George Benson. His new album ‘Heart to Heart’ is due out August 7 on Shanachie Records.
---Dr. Norman Brown is a licensed marriage and family therapist who literally wrote the book on relationships: a massive text book called, Love and Intimate Relationships, Journeys of the Heart. He has engaged with men’s growth groups since 1972 and practiced dream-guided adult and couple therapy since 1974. Norman was married to a Jungian therapist for 32 years and took care of her until her death from cancer in 2016. When he returned to California, he co-founded the Love and Power Institute with his partner Marsh Hudson in order to restore human sustainability in our biosphere in the face of our growing global crisis.
It is a rousing interview about gender and shame and about his views on the roots of homophobia as well as about working with the moment of most surprise in the dream. Originally aired May 11.
