46 | David Osborn | Fuel for Success: Like Father, Like Entrepreneur

The Greatness Machine

If asked, most entrepreneurs would describe themselves as mavericks, rebels or even ‘unemployable.’ They possess a unique combination of drive, ambition and intelligence that makes working for someone else difficult if not impossible. This burning desire to go their own way means that entrepreneurs tend to take an unusual approach to education. Such is the case with today's guest. In today's episode of The Greatness Machine, Darius chats with David Osborn, a self-proclaimed 'chaotic entrepreneur' and principal owner of the 6th largest real estate company in the US, with 4,500+ agents responsible for over 19,000 transaction sides and $10 billion in sales in 2017. Born in the US but raised in Europe, David was selected as a National Merit Scholar, he attended the University of Texas and graduated with an economics degree. You'll discover a little about David's unusual background and his belief that entrepreneurs often have an aggressive father in their background to inspire them. You'll find out why he started working in real estate with his mother almost as an afterthought, with no plans to stay in the career. You'll learn what it truly means to 'pivot' as an entrepreneur and how he's used it to achieve great success. You'll also discover the power of investing in passive income vehicles as a way to ensure success and weather crises. Join Darius and David as they map out the unusual path of an entrepreneur, and discuss why money should be more of a means to a goal rather than a goal in and of itself. Enjoy! What You’ll Learn in this Show: How growing up in Europe gave David an appreciation for the US, and how he ended up working in real estate almost by accident. What it means to ‘pivot’ as an entrepreneur. The importance of investing in passive income vehicles. And so much more... (24:53) What has been your secret to success in terms of bringing really exceptionally talented and skilled but also just well-rounded human beings into your world? Episode 130 - David Osborn

Tribe of Millionaires Podcast

In this episode, you will learn: • David’s brief bio • What David does and the results that he has today • David’s belief as an entrepreneur • David’s path to personal development and financial freedom • David’s lines of horizontal income • Having the ability to do what you want when you want • What David’s diet looks like • All about authentic relationships • David’s life happiness index score • What David does to give back to the community • Random acts of kindness • All about the Elders’ GoPod • David’s biggest business and personal goal in the next twelve months • Where to find David • Plus, so much more! After sticking out his thumb and traveling the world, David returned home to Austin, Texas broke and unemployed, at the age of 26. Though his travels may not have yielded wealth, they instilled the key motivation that he brings to every part of his life to create it -- freedom. Because to have everything you ever wanted takes the opportunity to design your life and believe it can happen. Through this intention, David began to test his entrepreneurial merits alongside his business-partner mom in the world of real estate. The results were nothing short of remarkable. In less than 10 years, David would go on to build one of the top real estate brokerages in the world, founding over 50 companies. Yet, more than anything else, the inherent freedom derived from his success awards him the time to focus on the importance on what matters most: being a proud father of two beloved daughters, a son and husband to the wonderful and talented Traci Osborn. Today, still rooted in his boundless sense of adventure, David continues to travel the world not only to be enlightened by new experiences, but to share his insight and expertise with others so they, too, can truly be free.
