Bill welcomes to the show Senator Dick Durbin. Bill and Senator Durbin discuss all the relevant issues. Durbin offers his thoughts on the DNC, and what the democrats achieved. How Joe Biden would be better than President Trump, what to expect if the Democrats regain control of the senate, issues at the U.S Postal Service, and the current status of the Stimulus bill.

Heather Cherone of WTTW, Ray Long of the Chicago Tribune, Fran Spielman and Lynn Sweet from the Chicago Sun-Times, and Greg Hinz of Crain’s make up this week’s Round Table discussion.

We welcome back Ray Long! Greg Hinz breaks big business news! We wrap up the DNC and share memories of Governor Jim Thompson.

This week's Connected to Chicago segment is with Nick Gale.

Illinois House Republicans called out Gov. J.B. Pritzker, who they say in recent court filings, is seeking to vacate the Shakman decree, a nearly fifty-year-old standard meant to prevent politically motivated hiring.

State Representatives Tim Butler (R-Springfield), Deanne Mazzochi (R-Elmhurst) and Grant Wehrli (R-Naperville) held a press conference questioning Pritzker’s move, saying this is the timing is all wrong, especially with the recent Com-Ed - Mike Madigan allegations.

The governor’s office has responded by saying - in part that during the past six years of oversight the State has not been subject to even one finding of a violation of the consent decree. Additionally, the State has instituted effective safeguards to ensure ongoing compliance.

The State moved to vacate because it has achieved the specific requirements of the decree and taken the steps required by the Court.
