Intentionally Act Now

We often hear calls for “greater dialogue” from the media, politicians, our friends, neighbors – everyone. But what is dialogue? From Sh*t to Fit: Karen Ross' Wellness Journey Episode 5

Mildly Eccentric and Imminently Wise with April McGinnis

Karen Ross is a fitness instructor, personal trainer, aquafit instructor, specializing in 55+ fitness/wellness.  In her own words? I am what would be considered a little late to the fitness party in that I didn't enter the industry until I was 51. Why do I choose to do what I do? My fitness/wellness career started out of necessity to make myself well. 9 years ago I was at the lowest point in my life and felt like I was already dead. A health crisis set me on the path to health and wellness, the right way, not the quick fix temporary way. The more I learn, the more I have to share. Knowledge is power. My mission, my passion, is to help others find their way to health and wellness by giving them the knowledge and power to take control of their own wellness path. Everyone deserves quality of life, for their entire life. https://karenrosswellness.com/ --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/april-mcginnis/message

Farmers for Climate Solutions - Karen Ross - Pandemic Recovery and Climate Change

Food Farm Talk

Farmers for Climate Solutions' Director Karen Ross talks to Paul Smith about their report “A better future starts on the farm: Recommendations for recovery from COVID-19 in Canadian agriculture” and its five recommendations to support farmers recovering from the pandemic while helping them deal with the long-term effects of the climate crisis. Their lobbying efforts resulted in a key phrase added to the recent Throne Speech "recognize farmers, foresters, and ranchers as key partners in the fight against climate change, supporting their efforts to reduce emissions and build resilience." Hopefully, additional measures for farmers and ranchers will appear in the new federal climate plan, expected soon. The five recommendations are discussed. https://farmersforclimatesolutions.ca/policy-solutions https://www.canada.ca/en/privy-council/campaigns/speech-throne/2020/speech-from-the-throne.html https://www.agr.gc.ca/eng/agriculture-and-climate/agricultural-practices/climate-change-and-agriculture/greenhouse-gases-and-agriculture/
