Jenna Kanell of Terrifier (2016)

Slashers

Happy Monday, Goons! We have one more special Women's March treat for everyone (and yes, we know it's April, but this was just too good to pass on), as the Call Your Ghoulfriends of Slashers Podcast have invited an honorary Ghoulfriend in...Mikey's favorite gal pal, actress, producer, writer, filmmaker, and overall badass, Jenna Kanell! You all know Jenna as Tara from Damien Leone's Terrifier (2016), featuring everyone's favorite, gory, comedic and creepy Art the Clown (played by David Howard Thornton and also starring Catherine Corcoran). But did you know she also played in The Bye Bye Man (2017) as well as countless other titles, in addition to the upcoming Faceless After Dark (written by Jenna herself!), the upcoming The Wild Man, and the upcoming Renfield starring Nicholas Cage as Dracula. Listen in and find out all of the amazing projects Jenna has coming up as well as her role as an activist for women in film. She truly is an inspiration and so much fun. This episode was initially meant as an interview, but it's essentially a hodgepodge of all the Ghoulfriends gabbing about women in horror and a zillion other wild stories and tales, but instead of spoiling them for you, why don't you just hit play! ‘It Follows’ with Jenna Kanell

Switchblade Sisters

Today we have the multi-talented Jenna Kanell (Terrifier) on the program. She’s a writer, director, actor, and stunt performer. And she’s on the show today to talk about 2014’s It Follows. Jenna discusses the infusion of social commentary into the horror genre. She talks about the difficulty and isolation that can go along with the acting process. And she elaborates on performing her own stunts and how that can help her feel more “in her own body” for a role. If you haven’t seen It Follows…you should! It’s good! With April Wolfe and Jenna Kanell.
