Mikhaila Peterson: Manager of Peterson Empire & Controversial Blogger

The Disruptive Entrepreneur

Discover today how your diet and lifestyle can impact your physical and mental health in ways you didn’t know were possible. Rob is joined by Mikhaila Peterson, a Canadian blogger who has documented her journey to remission by following an unusual diet called “The Lion Diet”. Today, they discuss the importance of job delegation, meditation and how to deal with receiving negative comments online.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • You can't do everything yourself. You may have a hard time giving jobs away to others, try to hire people that you can instinctively see yourself working well with as well as using personality tests to find people who are high in conscientiousness and low in neuroticism.

  • In order for somebody to optimise their health, diet is the place they have to start. It is the easiest place to start and the area of your life where you can see the most dramatic change.

  • It is really easy for people who are not in a good place in their lives to sneer at what you do and say ‘you should be doing things differently’. Don’t take advice on your diet from somebody that doesn’t look healthy themselves.

  • It is not sustainable to live a life whereby you are constantly doing things, it is not fair on yourself, your brain and your overall health, it is too hard on you. Taking ten minutes to not do anything at all can be really helpful for anxiety and reducing volatility.

  • When it comes to receiving negativity, it is important to focus on your fans as well as focusing on the ratio of positive to negativity. It is easy to ignore the praise and focus on the few negative comments however usually the positive outweighs the negative, practice focusing your energy on that.

  • With social media, if you end up getting a following, once you get to a certain level, people will wait for your content and they won't forget you. If you take a break, they will just wonder where you went. The ‘one hit wonder’ label is not necessarily apparent once you gain a loyal fan base on social media.

BEST MOMENTS

“It was such a transformative experience that I just thought ‘I have to talk about this.’”

“I am really interested in what experiences human beings can go through to better their life.”

“I wish there was more emphasis on trying to change people's diets before treating the health symptoms by masking it with medications.”

Mikhaila Peterson - Creator of Her Own Legacy

The Essential 11
Episode artwork
Read more

Mikhaila Peterson suffered most of her childhood with multiple health problems, starting with joint pain at the ripe age of 2 years old. By the time she was 7, she was diagnosed with extremely severe Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis with 37 actively inflamed joints. She began treatment with several medically prescribed drugs and as her health continued to decline, she was also diagnosed with severe depression, she experienced hypomanic episodes (Bipolar Type 2), and suffered from fairly severe OCD tendencies. So they added more prescriptions. Over the years Mikhaila's health continued to decline until she decided to experiment with an elimination diet. When she began to see things in her health change for the better, she realized she was on to something. Things like the paleo or keto diet certainly didn't exist back then. She continued to experiment with her diet until she found what works best for her, and thus was born the Lion diet.

As the founder of the Lion diet, Mikhaila now spends her time educating others about how diet affects overall health using her personal story and the stories of others who see results following the strict diet. She also operates as CEO of Luminate Enterprises and she has just launched The Mikhaila Peterson Podcast, which, within its first week has already reached #3 in health.

Now, hear her take on the Essential 11 questions.

The Suzanne Venker Show
Episode artwork
Read more

It's hard enough to be a millennial these days. But does being Jordan Peterson's daughter make it easier? Or harder?

Mikhaila Peterson is perhaps best known for being Jordan Peterson’s daughter, but she wears many hats. She’s the CEO of her father’s company, Luminate Enterprises, as well as the author of the blog, Don’t Eat That (https://mikhailapeterson.com/), which highlights Mikhaila's journey into remission from juvenile arthritis, severe depression, and chronic fatigue by using an all-beef elimination diet known as the Lion Diet.

Most importantly, Mikhaila is a married mother of one daughter and lives in Toronto.

IN THIS EPISODE:

– How being Jordan Peterson’s daughter shapes her thought process, particularly as it compares to her contemporaries

– On Mikhaila’s experience with political correctness at University and how this politically correct environment caused her to change her major

– How Mikhaila’s Lion Diet helped her and how you have to think for yourself and do your own research when it comes to your health

– How mainstream media is nasty and corrupt and her experience with the media’s (incorrect) portrayal of her father

– Mikhaila’s experience being a young mother and why motherhood should be prioritized over career

– What it’s like to date as a millennial and the downsides of the birth control pill

In heroes and villains watch James hear the phrase fat rat's clacker for the first time, offer his advice to anyone experiencing romantic difficulties and tell us about the best political ad he's ever seen. Pete asks Scott Morrison "how good's the Swamp?". Episode 44 - Mikhaila Peterson

Welcome to another episode of the Ancestral Mind Podcast, where today we're happy to have Mikhaila Peterson on the show!

Mikhaila started showing symptoms of multiple autoimmune diseases from a very young age, leading to a tough upbringing with several health problems such as severe arthritis and psychological ailments. Without any definitive answers or solutions from doctors, Mikhaila started understanding, through experimentation, that food was directly correlated to how she felt, and how her body functioned.

After a long while of experimentation she has found her ideal diet: the Lion Diet, consisting solely of ruminant meat, salt and water. Going full carnivore helped her, as well as her father, the world-famous academic Jordan Peterson, overcome their symptoms and thrive. Tune in to learn more!
