Music is much more than a passion for R&B newcomer Josh Waters. For a kid from Hattiesburg, MS who began mastering the skill of capturing emotions through words in his journals long before it was trendy and long before he pondered a career in music; a kid who led choirs at the age of six and knew that he was destined to deliver a divine message without ever setting foot in a pulpit even before he entered middle school? For that child, music is a calling. At the tender age of 23, Josh Waters is fully immersed in his calling. His innate ability to manipulate emotion into lyrical form, coupled with an undeniable stage presence, developed on Blues and Jazz stages across Mississippi and Alabama, he brings some of the most important original elements of the genre to his unique contemporary take on R&B. As demonstrated on "Dipped In Honey," the lead single from his 2019 sophomore offering Honey, and the forthcoming "Get Away," Josh delivers music that feels both fresh and familiar; new and already timeless. "I'm a messenger," he says of his calling. "I don't know how I feel about religion, but I know that God is unconditional love; and my music comes directly from that source. So my goal is to capture and express as many forms of unconditional love through my music as possible. For as long as possible.
