Life throws us all curveballs - especially now. Guest Heather Chauvin shares how to handle them and emerge triumphant.

Being diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer was the kick in the pants that my guest today says she needed to prioritize her finances and build a richer life. With cancer treatments exceeding $1,000 a week, her family of five was barely able to make ends meet. Within a few years of Heather's diagnosis, she became a multi-six figure business owner...now on her way to a seven-figure year. Today she is cancer free and managed to pay off $60k in credit card debt along the way.

More about Heather Chauvin: She is a leadership coach and strategic parenting expert who helps ambitious women become leaders at work and home. Drawing from her professional experience as a social worker and her life experience raising three boys, Heather created a signature approach to focus her clients on sustainability, profitability and ease in business and life. She is the host of the Mom Is In Control Podcast where she reveals her most vulnerable truths about womanhood, marriage, parenting, living through stage 4 cancer and running a successful business—without burning out. Heather has been featured as a TEDx speaker and on The OWN Network, CTV, and The Jenny McCarthy Show. She has also appeared in Entrepreneur and Real Simple.

Forget Hustle, Focus on Alignment (with Heather Chauvin)

The Stacking Benjamins Show

Are you a "go-go-go" person? You live on phrases like, "I can sleep when I'm dead," or "hustle and grind." Today's guest Heather Chauvin from the Mom In Control podcast used to live that lifestyle, until a serious health issue finally forced her to face the truth: it isn't sustainable. Not only that, but Heather Chauvin will also share how, once she took care of herself better, she was then able to bring more energy to her life, creating much more than she was when she was "hustle and grinding."

Plus, I don't know if you noticed, but the stock market has been slightly "bumpy" lately. Joe and OG have a timely discussion around people fleeing stocks AND those people who are on social media saying, "Go buy more." Both of these approaches could cost you dearly. They'll also discuss how Jeff Bezos now is joining the growing list of entrepreneurs putting his wallet behind the fight against climate change. We'll discuss ESG investing and why anyone would do that on today's show.

If you think that's all, well that might mean that it's your first time here (so welcome!). Of course, we'll also throw out the Haven Life line to a lucky caller, share some of Doug's amazing trivia AND much, much more. Enjoy!

When Heather popped into my DMs on Instagram, I knew she was special. There was something about her that was real, vulnerable and I knew she had a story to tell. One thing that I love about Heather is that she tells it likes it is, has a passion for making an impact on the world and shares her story because she knows it may help someone, even if it is just one person.

Before we get into the show I wanted to tell you a little bit more about Heather Chauvin, the creator of the Mom Is In Control Podcast.  On her podcast, she reveals her most vulnerable truths about womanhood, parenting her 3 boys, living through stage 4 cancer, navigating marriage and creating business success without burning out.

With new podcasts every day, Heather draws on her experience as a former Social Worker, mental health advocate and inspirational speaker, giving women permission to live more, drop the guilt and ask for what they need.

Heather has been featured on The Huffington Post, The OWN Network, CTV, Real Simple Magazine, The Jenny McCarthy Show and interviewed by many notable podcasters and radio shows.

Her motto is "in order to raise happy, calm and confident children, we must become the person we most desire them to be." I mean, who couldn't agree with that. right?

Today we’re chatting with Heather Chauvin, who is the creator of the Mom Is In Control Podcast, a mostly solo show where she tells it like it is. She reveals her most vulnerable truths about womanhood, parenting her 3 boys, living through stage 4 cancer, navigating marriage and creating business success without burning out. With new podcast episodes coming out every day, Heather draws on her experience as a social worker, mental health advocate and inspirational speaker to revolutionize how women define themselves. She challenges them to give themselves permission to live more, drop the guilt and ask for what they need. Heather has been featured on The Huffington Post, The OWN Network, CTV, and interviewed by many notable podcasters and radio shows. Her motto is in order to raise happy, calm and confident children, we must become to person we most desire them to be.

This was such a fun and inspiring conversation. Heather is so warm and candid about what it really takes to create a life that fills you up, rather than depletes you. There are a lot of people out there selling a silver bullet promise that will fix all of your problems. In this conversation, we really dive into the reality of what it takes to create a life you ENJOY as a busy working parent. You don’t have to give up the things that are most important to you to have a rich and full life. Instead, it’s about making strategic and deliberate choices about how you live your life as a whole.
