Law Chat with Girija
Our guest today spent years disrupting the health industry so that you wouldn’t have to struggle with body image issues the way she did. Episode Introduction: Dee Gautham is the founder of The Boss Body Method of coaching to help women get into their best shape ever, not just physically but mentally as well. In today’s episode, she shares her views on body image issues as well as how she’s working towards making sustainable changes to one’s health instead of following random diets here and there. Episode Summary: From struggling with body image issues to disrupting the health industry with her signature Boss Body Method, Dee Gautham is truly an inspiration for every woman who is looking to make healthy changes to her body. No crash diets, no hours sweating off on the treadmill, and definitely not copying an influencer’s diet chart - she believes in making sustainable changes specific to your body type so that you don’t end up relapsing every time you lose a few inches. Main Takeaways: When you’re working on improving your physical health, it is equally important to work on the underlying psychological body image issues so that you’re truly becoming healthy in all aspects. In order to work on your body image issues, you need to start by acknowledging them and educating yourself about what it is that’s affecting you. Learn to value yourself outside of your materialistic traits such as physical appearance, money, educational institute, etc. Sometimes you need to let go of control over certain aspects of your life. It is crucial for you to feel connected with your body in order to actively heal it inside out. Restricting your children from eating certain types of food is only going to make them want to consume more of it. Instead, focus on maintaining a balanced diet. When you’re choosing a name for your product, make sure it represents the vision and mission of your business. Everyone has the potential to scale, you just need the vision, desire, and guidance to do so. Dee’s top tips to hire an employee: Make a list of the qualities you’re looking for and then rate each candidate on a scale of 1-5 with respect to them possessing those qualities to help you better sort out the ideal employee. If you’re looking for someone to join your internet-based business, also consider their social media presence. Consider their technical skills, cultural fit, and values too. 206.5 | How to Stay Sane, Healthy, and YOU While Working From Home with Dee Gautham
The 6-Figure Freelancer Podcast | Freelancing | Entrepreneurship | Clients | Finances | Motivation | Personal Development | Mindset
My guest today is Dee Gautham. Dee is the owner of Dee Gautham Fitness and is a NASM certified personal trainer. She’s also the founder of the Boss Body Method of coaching to help busy, professional women get into their best shape ever – both physically and mentally. Dee spent her early career working in Silicon Valley in the software industry. She eventually quit her 9-5 job to be a freelance coach and now she runs her own company with a team of coaches. As a freelancer, Dee went through times of working from home and setting her own schedule, so she’s pulling from her personal experience as well as the experience of her clients. She went through times when she was working with large groups of people, and then the pendulum would swing in the opposite direction. She got to a point where she felt very lonely and her mental health started to deteriorate as a result. But Dee was able to find ways to combat the feelings of isolation and loneliness. Given the state of the world right now and how it’s impacting work for so many people, our conversation was very timely. Even if you’re a work-from-home veteran, Dee has a lot of valuable information that will improve your work-from-home experience. And if you’ve suddenly been thrust into a situation where you’re working from home unexpectedly, it’s even more pertinent. Dee and I first met on Instagram, where she posts great tips on how to level up your health, wellness, and nutrition, as well as your mental health. I highly suggest you check her out after you listen to this episode. “I think this is a time, more than ever, to be there for each other; make the connections.” In this episode Avani and Dee talk about: Getting out of a sedentary lifestyle and remaining active while staying at home. How to combat loneliness to keep yourself sane and stay mentally healthy. The importance of boundaries for both your work and personal life. Main Takeaways When working from home, it’s easy to fall into sedentary patterns. Make sure you’re able to get some fresh air. Stay physical by taking walks or doing home workouts, and make sure to keep up on your nutrition by eating well-balanced meals and drinking plenty of water. Not only do you want to keep up on your physical health, but your mental health as well. It’s easy to get lonely when working in isolation. To cope with this, establish a two-way connection with people instead of just scrolling through social media. If you find yourself absorbing negative energies from social media or the news, it’s a good idea to set boundaries for yourself. Only allow yourself to consume a certain amount, and give yourself a time limit on how long you spend on apps. Just like you have boundaries for what you consume, have boundaries for your workday. Have a schedule blocked off with what business you want to get done in certain time blocks. It’s also smart to set a specific time to start and end work for the day. Intuition is defined as the ability to understand something immediately, without the need for conscious reasoning. When we listen to our intuition and solidify our mission, we become more aligned and confident in our abilities. In today’s episode, I sit down with Dee Gautham, founder of Dee Gautham Live Fearlessly, to discuss how tapping into her intuition has helped her build her brand, overcome entrepreneurial obstacles, and find clients. When Dee noticed an opportunity to foster a community in the Instagram fitness space she entered it without hesitation. She had no hopes of becoming Insta-famous but the more she listened to her intuition the bigger she became. Her side-hustle grew naturally and soon she was able to ditch her 9-to-5 and focus on her brand full time. Dee has now shifted from the fitness space and coaches female entrepreneurs on mission alignment and sales. I love Dee’s entrepreneurial spirit because she addresses her challenges with a positive attitude, an open mind, and a refreshing approach. One of the biggest takeaways from today’s episode is Dee’s style to selling authentically. As Freelancers, when it comes to selling our services we often feel emotional and get intimidated. This, in turn, causes us to devalue ourselves, our time, and our skills. It is important that we put aside our ego and offer our services with a pure intention. This episode is great for freelancers and entrepreneurs in need of a sales pep talk. In this episode you will learn: Techniques for tuning into your intuition How to use your intuition to strengthen your alignment How to sell with confidence Related BSQ Podcasts: Networking: The Easy + Effective Way to Create Authentic, Symbiotic Relationships Freelance Hacks: Find Alignment, Build an Email List, and Create Multiple Streams of Income Building Long-Term Relationships for Client Retention with Melissa Huisman Connect with Dee: Website Fearless Bosslady Facebook Group Instagram Web Page: www.avanimiriyala.com/alignment-selling-authentically Check out my website at http://avanimiriyala.com.
