Award-winning American actor, writer and director, Chris Mulkey has a long and diverse career in film, television and stage. Chris is best known for On the Basis of Sex (2018), Whiplash (2014), Captain Phillips (2013), Twin Peaks (1990), Castle Rock (2018), Broken Trail (2006), Any Day Now (1998) and Boardwalk Empire (2010).Chris grew up in the Midwest, majored in acting at the University of Minnesota and spent four years as a company member of the Children's Theatre of Minneapolis. While in Minnesota, Chris starred in Loose Ends (1975), the Grand Prize winner at the USA film Festival. Chris moved to Hollywood 1975, married actress/artist Karen Landry and they moved to Venice Beach. The couple wrote and starred in Patti Rocks (1988), an independent film that won the Jury Prize at Sundance Film Festival. During a weekend memorial service, old hurts and dark secrets emerge that threaten to tear the fragile threads holding the family together.

(1982), "Patti Rocks" (1987), which gave Mulkey his first credit as a screenwriter, "The Hidden" (1987), "Gas Food Lodging" (1992) and "Broken Arrow" (1996). Mulkey is probably best remembered for his portrayal of sleazy ex-con Hank Jennings in the cult soap-opera "Twin Peaks" (ABC, 1990-91). His credits include Captain Phillips, Whiplash, Boardwalk Empire, Cloverfield, The Fan, First Blood and so many more.

Mulkey played the supporting role of husband to Annie Potts's character in Any Day Now from 1998-2002. He has also appeared in Captain Phillips, Against the Wall, Cloverfield, the NBC TV movie Knight Rider, and 24, Boardwalk Empire, Friday Night Lights, Boomtown, Justified, Baretta and Twin Peaks. He played the main character in the controversial 1985 Supertramp music video "Brother Where You Bound". He appeared in the Wing Commander franchise as Jacob "Hawk" Manley. He costarred with John Jenkins and Karen Landry in the 1988 indie film Patti Rocks. He appeared in the science fiction action film The Hidden, and the 1989 sci-fi cop film K-9000. He has appeared in more recent films as The Purge, Slow Burn, Sanitarium, The Identical and On the Basis of Sex. In 2014, he had a cameo role in Whiplash.

They are confronted with old hurts, as well as dark secrets, that threaten to tear the fragile threads holding the family together. Leo’s mother Marilyn, entrenched in grief, drops a bomb when she announces she’s leaving her husband David (Chris Mulkey) who has moved on from his mourning and still holds a grudge against Leo for his decision to go to Iraq and leave his wife and toddler behind. Meanwhile, Leo’s widow, Thisbe, struggles to come to terms with how falling in love with a new man will change her dynamic with the family. Personal quarrels and long-held animosity between Leo’s siblings plague the family, only being intensified by his memorial, while his sister, Noelle, grapples with the fact that she was the last to see Leo alive during a trip to Jerusalem.
