One of the days we discussed during last week’s debate about the best days on the sports calendar is here...NFL Draft Day! PJ and Joe are joined by Cole Thompson — NFL writer for FanSided and Sports Illustrated — as he takes us through his evaluation of the top prospects and provides a glimpse at his 1st round mock draft. Cole, PJ, and Joe debate the top WRs in the class, what the Niners will do with the 3rd pick, and take a look at just how murky things can get from picks 5-15. Joe and PJ provide their own mock of the top 10 picks before wrapping up with some NFL Draft trivia.
The team event at the Zurich Classic in New Orleans didn't disappoint as the Australian duo won in a playoff, giving co-host Michael Russell his second winning pick of the year. Michael and co-host Alex Lauzon break down the win, and the chances that Cam Smith cuts off his mullet (1:43). Across the pond, past guest Rhys Enoch flexed in contention in beautiful Gran Canaria on the Euro Tour (4:48), and Tony Romo continues to fail at being worth the exemption on the Korn Ferry Tour (6:14). Brook Henderson showed off her game as she won at the Hugia-Air Premia LA Open, cementing her place as the best Canadian golfer of all time (8:35). And Tiger pops back onto social media, just as the PGA Tour announces new money awarded to golfers who are good at it (9:58). As the podcast continues its partnership with The First Tee - Greater Austin, Alex reminds us of the great things the First Tee offers during the summer (11:52). The PGA Tour heads to Tampa Bay to return to the Valspar Championship, run by past guest Tracy West. Alex and Michael throw out some names of golfers to keep an eye on, including 2-time defending champion Paul Casey (12:42). In Tuned In, Alex was one of the few people watching the Oscars this weekend, while Michael was viewing the new "Mortal Kombat" for his other podcast, 3 Minute Movie Reviews (15:23). As the NFL Draft approaches, Alex chatted with Cole Thompon from Sports Illustrated's "Fan Nation" to get everyone ready for this weekend (18:23). And as Alex and Michael #AlwaysEndWithFood, it's all about returning to restaurants and baking bread (47:05). Cole Thompson - Discovering Your Vision in Landscape Photography
F-Stop Collaborate and Listen
Hey everyone!Welcome to episode 178 of the F-Stop Collaborate and Listen podcast. For this week's episode of the podcast I finally got the opportunity to sit down and have a conversation with one of my favorite black and white photographers and someone whom I have always admired, Cole Thompson. Cole has a totally unique philosophical approach to photography which is often misunderstood by many people. It is something he refers to as photographic celibacy and I think it has tremendous merit.Cole and I discuss some interesting topics this week, including: How he got his start in photography, Why he has chosen black and white as his medium, External validation of our photography and its impact on our creative vision, How to develop a personal vision in your photography, The influence of praise, ... and more! Over on Patreon this week, Cole and I explore the question, "Do you need to go to great locations to get great photographs?" I hope you enjoy our conversations! Here are the people that Cole recommended listeners check out: 1. Edward Weston's Daybooks. 2. Hamidah Glascow & The Center for Fine Art Photography. I love hearing from the podcast listeners! Reach out to me via Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter if you'd like to be on the podcast or if you have an idea of a topic we can talk about. Join the discussion over on Nature Photographer's Network! We have weekly discussions about each episode of the podcast. It's also free! We also have an Instagram page and a Facebook page for updates. Thanks for stopping in, collaborating with us, and listening. See you next week.
