No, You Hang Up | Bobby Cappuccio - 448

Roll With The Punches

Sometimes wrapping up a podcast with Bobby is like the old days of trying to hang up a landline phone with your bestie. But hey, I remember the days just a brief couple of years ago when I wondered if he'd even say yes to being a guest on my show, let alone a weekly guest and a daily very good friend!! Aaaaaanyway, this week we are talking about expectations. How to manage them, how to interpret them and what role they play when it comes to our intentions, experiences and results.  I hope you enjoy it... I fully expect you might :) SPONSORED BY TESTART FAMILY LAWYERS Website: www.testartfamilylawyers.com.au BOBBY CAPPUCCIO Website: www.theselfhelpantidote.com TIFFANEE COOK Linktree:  https://linktr.ee/rollwiththepunches/ Website: www.rollwiththepunches.com.au LinkedIn:  www.linkedin.com/in/tiffaneecook/ Facebook:  www.facebook.com/rollwiththepunchespodcast/ Instagram:  www.instagram.com/rollwiththepunches_podcast/ Instagram: www.instagram.com/tiffaneeandco See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Snaggletooth | Bobby Cappuccio - 409

Roll With The Punches

Snaggletooth? You might be wondering what the hell this episode could be about with a title like that hey. Well, it's one of the many things we discuss in today's banter. How endearing Bobby finds a snaggletooth (after ascertaining that he and I have similar teeth... yeah, weird thing to notice in the middle of a podcast).  Irony, hobgoblins, Woodstock 99, straight teeth, weirdo's and the profound effect our environment has on who we are and how we behave. Lot's of fun and in my humble opinion lot's of gold nuggets too. I'm a fan of this chat... but also acutely aware of my biases! #904 Self-Help Cliches & Other Stupid Sh*t - Bobby Cappuccio

The You Project

TYP favourite Bobby is back sharing his considerable brain with us and this time we chat about self-help clichés, the theory vs. reality of changing a habit, grown-ups seeking attention and approval, when support (from others) becomes a dependency (a new problem), the attraction (and commercial potential) of quick-fixes and reward-without-work products, self-awareness and self-management, the challenge (as a speaker and coach) of sharing the popular (feel good) message vs. the uncomfortable truth, the phases of change and stupid (but widely used) generalisations about complicated, multi-dimensional (human) issues. Enjoy.  theselfhelpantidote.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

'I Am Enough' | Bobby Cappuccio - 385

Roll With The Punches

"I AM ENOUGH" It's a powerful affirmation. Most of us don't believe it, many of us say it, write it and repeat it as a mantra. This week Mark Thomas opened up a dialogue with me to put the 'I Am Enough' affirmation under the microscope and define actually 'what is enough'? Which of course will vary from person to person. Perfectly timed question preceding my weekly podcast with Bobby Cappuccio so we picked up the ball and ran with it and it's definitely a topic we both thrived on bantering about! We bounce around ideas on manifestation and affirmative thinking. We discuss the science, the experience, the results, the tools, loopholes, the perspectives and reality - your reality, my reality and the reality that some aspects of our reality is potentially idealism itself. Another mind-food episode I hope you enjoy! #776 If I Were A Desert Boot - Bobby Cappuccio

The You Project

I’ve been around Bobby’s mind for decades and even I don’t know what’s likely to emerge. Most of the time, neither does he. Which always makes for an interesting chat. Among other things, we speak about learning styles, the role of emotion in memory, preparing for a speaking gig, fear of success, how to connect with an audience, the anthropomorphisation of shoes (it will make sense, kind of) and the time Bobby and I nearly drowned as he stoically gave a speech at a wedding (totally true story). Enjoy.  theselfhelpantidote.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

#725 Bobby Two-Shoes - Bobby Cappuccio

The You Project

Most of you know Bobby and I are Mates and, in some ways (for a range of reasons), to me he’s like a weird, loveable, super-smart little brother. To say his childhood was rough is like saying the ocean is a bit wet. In comparison, my upbringing was Disneyland and I had zero problems. While talking about Bobby’s journey is sometimes tough, what amazes me is his total lack of self-pity, bitterness and resentment and his ability to graciously share the insights, lessons and experiences to come from those years. Among other things, in this episode we discuss optimal cognitive function, his Tourette’s, reading hard copy vs screens, bias, unlearning, ADHD and learning, similarity seeking, discovering your learning style, what represented love for him, trusting people slowly, finding the light in the darkness and much more. Oh, and the reason for the title? Well, he’s from Brooklyn, his name is Bobby and he wears two shoes. Why else? theselfhelpantidote.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

#506 The Smartest Idiot (Part 2) - Bobby Cappuccio

The You Project

Bobby Cappuccio is a popular and inspirational TYP regular but this episode is different to our normal chats. Sure, we talk (a little) about all the normal do-think-be better (personal development) stuff but not long into this unscripted (as always) chat, Bobby began to go deep into some of his personal journey. It’s not always easy listening but ultimately, his story is one of resilience and survival that is simultaneously uplifting, confronting and inspiring. Among other things we talk about (1) growing up in a violent house devoid of love and care (2) being born with a severe facial deformity (3) his multiple reconstructive surgeries (4) looking for love in the wrong places (5) being given up for adoption (6) using drugs and alcohol from the age of ten (7) navigating life with Tourette’s, ongoing rejection and massive insecurity (8) being medicated to the point of social dysfunction (9) being pigeon-holed as an idiot and (10) how he saved himself through education, curiosity, work ethic and compassion for others. This ‘idiot’ is one the smartest, most evolved and loving people I know.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
