Etienne Kubwabo was born in Congo and had to flee to Uganda, by foot, with his family to escape when the country was being ravaged by war.On the way to Uganda, he was split up from his family and ended up fighting to survive on his own. Etienne grew up in the Democratic Republic of Congo and on to Uganda and now lives in Glasgow, Scotland. He is a filmmaker, writer and has published a black superhero magazine ‘Beats of War’ so that he could create role models for people just like him. His energy is contagious.
