Her journey started quite early in her life. When she was a little girl, one of her friends was murdered. This unfortunate event created a passion for justice and a desire to help criminals rehabilitate themselves so that they would go out in the world to commit more crimes.

Samantha became a correctional counselor at age 19, but she soon found out that she didn't have the skill to hold on to her position for long. She was not able to separate work from her day to day life, and thus creating a breakdown in her general happiness.

In this episode we talk about:

1.  Good can be the enemy of great. Don’t settle if you know you are meant for more. If we feel the calling to do more, to make an impact and a difference in the lives of others, we must follow that calling!

2.  “Don’t half-cup your life”….”Life is too short to not be spent making an impact to help others”.  Remember you are not a tree, and if you don’t love where you are at in your life, you can move to do what makes you happy!

3.  Samantha talks about, “Outside-insight”, being able to take the outside view of where someone is at and help them to uncover or see their own insight.

4.  We are our own worst enemy. We must be kind and compassionate with ourselves and allow ourselves to grow as step into each new experience.

5.  There are times in our lives when we will be “in the mud”, and it may be very important to allow ourselves time to be in the mud.  What is it teaching us? What are we hear to learn? It is ok to be in the mud as opposed to avoiding, hiding or resisting the mud.

6. Owning your story is actually the key that connects us to the people we are meant to impact.

7.  Samantha has a beautiful vision of creating an impact by helping people to navigate change.  Changing habits, rituals, decisions truly can create massive change in our lives.  Change can be scary, and it can also be the most beautiful opportunity.

Samantha Kris recently earned the title of Best-Selling author for her book Bossing Up. As a guideline to how she changed her life and became a Success Coach, she reveals personal events and wisdom that got her through her toughest challenges. My favorite part of the book is her perception of Imbalance. Yes, the opposite of work-life balance! She also debunks five myths about entrepreneurship. For example, how entrepreneurs are scared to put their ideas out in the world because they think they need to get it right the first time. Oh, also, I ask her about her experiences bungee jumping, swimming with sharks and sky diving because I just had to know more about that!
