JENNIFER JASON LEIGH with SAM INGLIS and JASON SHAWHAN
The Incinerator Podcast
Known for her burning intensity as an actress, JENNIFER JASON LEIGH feels like a proper 'first' for The Incinerator, seeing as how we've never inflicted this kind of damage on an individual before. Doing just that are SAM INGLIS (Hawke Talk Podcast) and JASON SHAWHAN (Nashville Scene), the two biggest JJL fans to ever JJL. They'll be guided, rewarded, and penalized the entire way by a super secret guest known only as "The Engineer". The players won't know who's causing them so much grief, and neither will you, till everything is said and done.--- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
JOHN WATERS (with Billy Ray Brewton & Jason Shawhan)
Billy Ray Brewton (Three Dollar Bill Cinema, The Incinerator) and Jason Shawhan (The Belcourt Theatre) help us celebrate Pride 2022 by drafting the filmography of the controversial and groundbreaking legend, Mr. John Waters!
Our buddy JASON SHAWHAN (Nashville Scene) returns to the gravy to rank our individual Top 10 Films of 2022 (thus far). May has only just begun, but there have already been some true bangers in Q1 - between that fact and Jason's eclectic tastes, it should be a wild and friendly curation!--- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/movieswithgravy/support

The Birthday Show -- aka What the F**k I Gotta Celebrate? (w/Jason Shawhan)
Everything Is Cancelled
Yeah, this one is melancholy as hell. I just had a birthday, so you know I talk about how much of a bitch it is getting old. I also get into that dumb-ass Houston doctor that Trump likes, all the people who recently passed away (including former presidential candidate/Godfather's Pizza founder Herman Cain), why Republicans insist on pissing off AOC and a nasty snack that's been floating around on Twitter. Later on, I have an equally downbeat talk with film critic (and upcoming birthday boy) Jason Shawhan about so many things: racism, depression, hot sauce, miniature golf, Revenge of the Nerds and, of course, titties. As for music, I play tunes by Teyana Taylor, Khruangbin & Leon Bridges, Stevie Wonder and Floetry featuring Sebastian Rogers. If you'd like to donate to the podcast, go here.
On Tuesday, I spoke to Boston film critic Sean Burns. (Thanks tp all of you who listened, by the way.) Today, we'll be talking to an old college buddy of his, Nashville's very own Jason Shawhan. Also a fellow film critic (we both serve as contributing critics over at Nashville Scene), he and I touch on a number of film-related subjects. We discuss how me backing out of reviewing a certain film cemented his status at the Scene. We spend quite a bit of time discussing on-screen nudity (as well as come up with a new term for showing audiences the goods.) We also talk about Shawhan's life as both a critic and a gay man. And, somewhere down the line, we both agree that Jewel is a badass. Yeah, it was one of those nights.
