Shannon Preston had battled weight issues most of her life until one day she made the decision that enough was enough. While on this journey she was introduced to running and started training for local running events. When one of her former co workers invited her to compete on a Hood to Coast team Shannon was immediately taken in by the event. Sounds like that should be where the story ends, but then one day Shannon decided to get a lump checked out that had been on the back of her mind a for bit and suddenly her life was turned upside down. In this podcast Shannon Preston of the Archbishop of Canterbury's St Anselm Community returned from a month's silent retreat to preside at St Lukes and to preach drawing on John 17:20-26.  In this text Jesus' prays to the Father for the unity of the disciples and for the Church where he is part of God and that Church joins in with this God.  This key text is the reason that the St Anselm Community pray each day the prayer below: in Lambeth Palace Lord Jesus, who prayed that we might all be one.  We pray to you for the unity of Christians according to your will.  According to your means,  may your Spirit enable us to experience the suffering caused by division, to our sin, and to hope beyond all hope.  Amen..For more informattion on St Lukes please see www.stlukespeckham.co.uk
