Pepe Gordon es un personaje que sin temor podríamos denominar como excepcional. Novelista, ensayista, periodista cultural y científico, traductor, guionista, presentador de televisión y profesor; un reconocido intelectual mexicano que se ha dedicado a pensar los puentes entre las ciencias y la literatura. Ha sido conductor del Noticiario cultural 9:30 y es jefe de redacción del suplemento La Cultura en México, de la revista “Siempre”. Premio Nacional de Periodismo en 1994. Produce y conduce “Imaginantes”, una premiada serie televisiva, y dirige la revista de divulgación científica, “La Oveja Eléctrica”. Es autor de los libros “Tocar lo invisible” (Planeta, 1995), “El novelista miope y la poeta hindú” (UNAM, 2002), “Revelado instantáneo” —en colaboración con Guadalupe Alonso— (Joaquín Mortiz, 2004) y “El inconcebible universo” (Sexto piso, 2017), entre otros. De este último, Pepe nos lee fragmentos de la introducción, en la que relaciona pasajes literarios con la búsqueda científica. Las líneas de Borges y Neruda se relacionan con las teorías de Einstein y Hawking; el fenómeno de entrelazamiento cuántico y la teoría de cuerdas, se encuentran con “El jardín de los senderos que se bifurcan” y “Oda a una estrella”, todo esto para hablarnos del afán de la humanidad por buscar la unidad. Tanto en ese pasaje como en la conversación con Ángela Pérez, Pepe nos enseña las relaciones que se pueden establecer entre el arte, la ciencia y la vida, y nos muestra una forma misteriosa y mágica de abrazar el contexto de la paz. Además nos relata una serie de anécdotas que, a la luz de sus ideas, nos ponen pensar en las diversas conexiones que existen en el mundo y en cómo se pueden generar nuevas formas de pensar y actuar que impacten la manera en que nos relacionamos con los demás seres humanos y con el espacio en donde habitamos; ideas que resultan importantes para subrayar la importancia de las palabras y la imaginación en la construcción de la paz.

He is also the Founder and Director of United Basketball Clinics. Matt has 19 years of coaching experience including 13 as a head varsity coach for both boys and girls. Smith’s coaching career started as a student assistant coach while attending Toccoa Falls College in Georgia.
