On this edition of Lacrosse Classified, we have two guests who had big games in Week 3 of the NLL schedule. Callum Crawford and Keegan Bal join us on the show.First up is Callum Crawford of the New England Black Wolves. The veteran — who fell just short of the league scoring title last season — has been ripping it up in the NLL through two games again this year. We talk about the Black Wolves' success, the rise of Douggie Jamieson, Callum's interesting flight to Saskatoon this past weekend and the success of his program in Tulsa, Oklahoma.Next up is Keegan Bal of the Vancouver Warriors who had 8 points in the Warriors win over the Riptide on Saturday. Bal's story is an interesting one in which two years ago, he found himself out of a job in the NLL and was playing Senior B lacrosse in St. Albert when he got the call from Dan Richardson of the Warriors to come to camp to try out. The Warriors, who were looking for diamonds in the rough to build on their depth, embraced Bal, who repaid them with a 30 goal season in 2019, including a 14-point performance against Philadelphia in one game.As always, we recap Week 3 in our Stampede Tack's Who We Had, we play #WhoYaGott where Evan and Jake are even in the standings again, news and notes, and in our G Wilson Construction Under Review, we explore a rule change which is still confusing teams, fans and officials alike in mucking the ball in the crease. As always a big thank you to our sponsors Pure Vita Labs, the Vancouver Warriors, Associated Labels and Packaging, Stampede Tack and G Wilson Construction. Callum Crawford, Bruce Urban: Lacrosse Classified, Ep. 8
Lacrosse All Stars Network
In this episode, Jake and Evan recap all five games from a crazy week 3 in the NLL. Jake then chats with Pure Vita Labs sponsored player Callum Crawford of the New England Black Wolves, who is certainly more than a role player, he's the main catalyst of the Black Wolves offense. Callum has played for 8 different teams in his 14 NLL seasons, including Calgary, San Jose, Edmonton, Minnesota, Colorado, Buffalo and New England. He currently resides in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he coached a high school lacrosse development program.Bruce Urban has been the owner of the Edmonton/Saskatchewan Rush since their inception in 2005. A passionate lacrosse fan, Bruce saw the excitement of an NLL game when the Roughnecks came to Calgary and was instantly sold on the potential the league had to offer. After winning their first title in 2015 in Edmonton, Bruce was forced to move his team to Saskatoon due to the inability to secure a long term arena lease in Edmonton. Since the mice, the Saskatchewan Rush have become the class of the NLL both on the floor with two more titles, but also off the floor as the team with the highest attendance in the league and the most profitable team in the league. All of this despite playing in the smallest market in the league in Saskatoon, with a population of just 270,000.Finally, we end the year with our predictions for week 4 and a very "big" announcement. Plus, records broken in the NLL and MLL, Gavin Prout pumps some kid in Europe and we say good-bye to Les Wingrove. All that and more, on the OTCBPodcast.
