OPC 005: Cole Chance – A Path to Healing and Wholeness

Omar Pinto Coaching

From using crack in a trailer park to becoming an internationally renowned Yoga teacher, Thai Massage practitioner, and retreat leader, Cole Chance has used her gifts of leadership and vulnerability to break the cycle of addiction and change the trajectory of her life through yoga.  In episode 005 of the Omar Pinto Coaching Podcast, Cole opens up about the harrowing journey of going through the painful psychological process of losing her fixed identity tied to addiction and her “party girl” label she picked up along the way. Through her hero's journey, she talks about the essence of “doing the work,” reuniting with the part of herself that knows exactly what she needs, and following her intuition to finding her true self. With an innate need to create, only seven years after she hit rock bottom, she created the Emerge Recovery Program, combining ancient practices of yoga, Buddhism, neuroscience and psychology to create a deeper self understanding and to cultivate more empowerment along your path.  Listen in to learn how you can uniquely share with others what already exists and still change their lives. You will also learn the power you hold within after letting go of the fixation of who you are as an addict. What You Will Discover:   [1:01] How to curate information that resonates with you and present it to others who resonate with it too.   [8:18] Getting over your fixation of who you think you are as an addict and giving yourself credit for it.   [18:44] The power of the moment you allow the person inside of you that you always knew you could be to come out.   [26:58] How to find an anchor point that’ll bring out your higher self and motivate others to do the same.   [38:35] How to allow things to shift in your life without controlling how they happen.   [41:44] Learning how to turn your addiction into sustainable recovery and seeking support to help you along the way. "Addiction is a replacement for people" with Cole Chance, Yoga Teacher and Recovered Addict

MyGuru

During this week's podcast I spoke with Cole Chance, a globally well-known yoga teacher, founder of an online yoga platform OmYogaTribe and Emerge Recovery, a programme to support recovery from addiction.  She is an ex-alcoholic and drug abuser who was in and out of rehabs, detox centres, hospitals, and 12 step programme rooms, throughout her 20’s until she overdosed at 29 and finally decided to turn a page in her life. During our conversation Cole opens up deeply about her path with addiction, the moment she decided that she could be high or she could be happy, and the importance of taking responsibility for her own life and she does so with such grace, and lightness of being, its hard to believe she’s lived through what she’s lived through. To experience one of Cole’s yoga classes head to her YouTube Channel here *DISCLAIMER* This podcast was recorded in Ubud, Bali at Cole’s beautiful jungle house. If any of you have visited Bali, you probably know that random sounds during a recording were inevitable. Thank you for listening and enjoy the podcast! Finding Recovery through Yoga with Cole Chance

Sober Nation FM

Finding Recovery through Yoga with Cole Chance Cole spent years running from her addiction. She would relocate and change her surroundings, but no matter where she went the substances followed. After 6 treatment centers, several hospital visits, and an overdose, the seed of recovery was planted with one casual conversation. She was told, "You can either be high or happy, but not both." Cole decided to give sobriety one more shot and moved into a sober home. It wasn't long until she rediscovered yoga and made it a vital part of her recovery plan. Cole points out several ways that yoga can benefit people in recovery, including becoming more aware of our bodies, our breathing, and how we speak to ourselves. Today Cole is over 6 years sober and travels around the world teaching yoga as well as carrying her message of recovery. Hello Human

Cole Chance has a beautiful story. She is a friend, a life long sister, a goddess, a sober yogi with a story. I feel so grateful to have met Cole three years ago in Bali.
