How to Monetize Your Podcast Today, with 30 Under 30 Podcast CEO Amanda McLoughlin
Grow The Show: Grow & Monetize Your Podcast
Amanda McLoughlin is the Founder and CEO of Multitude, a podcast collective based in New York City.5 years ago, Amanda was working 9-to-5 for a finance company by day, and making a folklore podcast with her friend Julia Schifini on nights and weekends. That podcast, Spirits, was monetized from Day one, and pretty soon Amanda and Julia were able to make podcasting their full-time job.As Amanda and Julia's personal network of podcasters grew, they realized that they should all pool their resources together into a DIY podcast network. With that, the Multitude Podcast Collective was born. This past December, Amanda was named by Forbes 30 Under 30 for her work monetizing podcasts and helping creators to grow, while still owning their work.Today, she's going to teach you how she does it - and how you too can monetize your podcast right now.Resources Mentioned:Multitudes' Free Resources and Templates for PodcastersWant to join a community of high-performing independent podcasters?Want to swap tactics, get feedback, and grow together?Want to have your questions answered during AMAs with podcasting legends?Join us in the Grow The Show online community! Amanda McLoughlin: What to do with an English Degree
When Amanda McLoughlin graduated university with an English Literature degree, she wasn't 100% sure what her long term goals were. Like we all do, she took a variety of jobs that weren't entirely related to her passion, but hey, they paid the bills (and her student loans). In her spare time, she and a couple of friends made a couple of podcasts, and with more podcasting friends created a collective. Most importantly, Amanda took everything she learnt from those "unrelated" fresh out of college jobs to turn a creative passion into a business that performs consulting work for audio based shows- which is how our Academic Officer Meg got in contact with her in the first place! Please join them both as they chat about how every left turn is an opportunity, and how to find your pocket in the modern world.
