Rest Now with Kelly Balarie

Living With Less Podcast

This week Chelsey sits down with Kelly Balarie to talk about resting with the Lord. Truly resting with Him - in His Word, through His directing, and living in surrender with Him.   I’ve been so eager to have this conversation for a few reasons. 1st being I know this will be a blessing to each person that listens - this message is one that so perfectly fits with what The Lord has laid on my heart. 2nd this book met me in the midst of a few weeks where I felt like I was drowning in “un-rest”. So first I wanted to start by diving into talking about the first chapter of this book - “the endless pursuit of more”. One of my favorite parts was the Counting of Counterfeits. Can you share about these “counterfeits” of more that seemingly creep in and begin fighting for the throne of our hearts that belongs only to The Lord. What takes your eyes off of the Lord? What takes your attention of what the Lord is doing in your life? 1 John 2:16, "For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world.” This is huge in culture today, we live in the most self seeking, self preserving, self centered generations. What would you say to the women who are getting sucked into these messages of, “me, me, me..and all the world offers.”?Keep your eyes on Jesus and the simplicity of His message!Be obedient to His call over our lives as His followers. Where can listeners get your book and connect with you! Website - https://purposefulfaith.comInstagram - @kellybalarieTwitter - @kellybalarieFacebook - http://www.facebook.com/purposefulfaith

Kelly Balarie

Thriving Beyond Belief with Cheryl Scruggs

Welcome Kelly Balarie to the Thriving Beyond Belief podcast! Now more than ever, we need rest –a deep, trust-centered knowing of God’s goodness and peace. Yet, these days, we are experiencing the opposite: Three out of five people admit to doing more than they can manage. Many are more fearful than ever because of  Covid-19. Great amounts of people are under the weight of massive financial burdens. Not only this, but family life, virtual schooling, safety discussions and workplaces are overtaking over sacred home spaces. Here, we are doing and worrying, more than being with and loving God.  The pressure -- is real. Whereas, we once figured rest was at home, now we realize that quietly tucking ourselves away from projects, people, and the pressures of today, isn’t the whole answer…  We are still left feeling worried, exhausted, tired, and weary. Distance, days at home and constant solitude don’t fill the hole or the desires of our heart. What is rest? Real rest is soul rest. Soul rest not found from exterior things, but through heartfelt focus, soul-full simplicity and wise communication – all with the goal of fostering love. In this, we can grab hold of what matters most. We become present to God. We find peace. We lay hold of God’s goodness. This is rest. Bestselling author Kelly Balarie believes a more soul-full way of life is available for us all. In her latest book Rest Now: 7 Ways to Say No, Set Boundaries, and Seize Joy, Kelly offers practical “hows” to help rest become a living reality. In our interview, you’ll learn to: create boundaries that allow you to overflow with love say no so you don't hate yourself later ditch passive-aggressive behaviors in favor of healthy conversations that lead to peace embrace permission-giving thoughts to create mental space for God Rest Now shows us that we no longer have to strive for rest, but we can love from it, like Jesus did. This not only brings rest, but joy – even in the most tumultuous season. Balarie says, "Rest and joy are fully available to us even in this season thanks to Jesus."

009: Getting Battle Ready with Kelly Balarie | The Living Room

The Living Room with Joanna Weaver

"Do you long to have a steadfast relationship with God rather than vacillating between joy and despair?" In this episode, my friend, Kelly Balarie, shares from her book, Battle Ready: Train Your Mind to Conquer Challenges, Defeat Doubt, and Live Victoriously. Our minds are a battlefield and too often life can feel like a rollercoaster full of ups and downs. After all, Jesus Himself reminds us to expect trouble in this world, but He also promises to bring victory (John 16:33).Kelly gives so many practical tips for how to can change our mindset and no longer be thrown by life's difficulties, but rather begin to see them as opportunities to grow closer to Christ!{ USE PLAYER BAR @ TOP OF PAGE to listen to show, subscribe and share }Important Takeaways from Show Our struggles oftentimes become our breakthroughs. Our victory is rarely instantaneous. God is all about the process and the joy of doing it with us. When you are filled with Jesus, He makes the things of earth grow strangely dim. Nothing else compares. How to renew your mind: 1. Repent. 2. Reset your mind. 3. Resolve to replace lies with God's truth. Repentance is not about God being disappointed in you, it is God doing a new thing in you. We have to identify the lies behind our emotions and thoughts. When we feel hungry, rushed or tired everything can feel like a battle. Stop and breathe. Take care of your needs. Always remember to take a moment to invite God into the situation. You are not alone and it is not all up to you! Have faith that what needs to get done will get done. To address fear - admit it, invite a friend to pray with you and intentionally focus on how Jesus changes it all. Practical advice: Go through the alphabet, stating truths about who God is and what He has done for you. Listen to the wisdom of others. If you are married, listen to the wisdom of your spouse. Think about what you are thinking about. Take every thought captive."Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformedby the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12:2God's Word is the fuel that feeds our minds the truth we need. - Kelly BalarieClick To TweetLinks from ShowBattle Ready: Train Your Mind to Conquer Challenges, Defeat Doubt, and Live VictoriouslyFear Fighting: Awakening Courage to Overcome Your FearsBattle Ready Resources[Disclosure: I make a small commission from affiliate links used in this post.] Connect with Kelly BalarieWebsite | Facebook | Twitter | InstagramConnect with Joanna Facebook | Pinterest | Instagram | Twitter The Living Room CommunityLooking for a community of Jesus-hearted women to learn and grow with?
