Episode 25: Honor Yoga Teacher Spotlight w/ Gina Cerbone

Honor Yoga Triple Cast

Gina, 500 E-RYT, began her yogic journey in 2010 as she developed a strong connection to her Vinyasa practice which led her to a teacher training program with Delia Quigley and Denise Kay in 2012. For Gina, the Vinyasa quality of "moving mediation," coupled with her daily seated meditation, allows her to center herself when her world feels out of balance and lacking in stillness. Gina feels that Yoga has opened her eyes to see the person within, who she really is. Her practice helped her to find herself at a time when she felt lost. Gina believes that human nature is an important aspect of teaching yoga and a path to gain insight into others as well as one’s self by giving and receiving (sharing) the gift of yoga. Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art from Saint Joseph’s University. She has completed her Masters in Applied Clinical Nutrition (Cum Laude) at New York Chiropractic College in 2017. In February 2018 she started her own business in nutrition called Spoonful of OM and it supports people and gives them the power and knowledge to become healthy. Using her many talents and introducing three main modalities to help her clients feel empowered happy and healthy; yoga, customized nutrition consultation, and essential oils. Episode 11: From The Wall Street Journal To Honor Yoga w/ Michelle Gerdes

Honor Yoga Triple Cast

In this episode Amy had the pleasure to sit with Michelle Gerdes, Michelle is a postpartum doula and yoga instructor, teaching at Honor Yoga Hamilton, located in Hamilton (Mercer County) NJ. After graduating from Rutgers with a degree in Journalism, Michelle’s first career took off in big New York City newsrooms including WNBC and The Wall Street Journal. Working on the front lines of journalism came with high stakes, constant deadlines, and enormous stress—all things she thrived on, until she didn’t. As I got to know Michelle, I became intrigued by her journey, which brought her from the overtaxed life of a news editor to her current profession, where she a lifeline to parents. I was also touched by her willingness open up about her struggles with work-life balance and postpartum depression. Michelle is the founder of Princeton Doula Center (princetondulacenter.com), which helps families adjust after baby comes home; and teaches Roots, Gentle and Baby & Me classes. Michelle also holds a certification in perinatal mood disorders. Be sure to check out Honoryoga.com to keep up on everything Honor, trends in yoga and much more.

Episode 7: Giving Back with Honor Yoga w/ Kathi Szabo

Honor Yoga Triple Cast

In this episode, Amy sat with Kathi Szabo, Co-Owner of Honor Yoga Hamilton and President of the Honor Yoga Foundation. November being a heart-felt month of gratitude and giving thanks, this episode’s topic was focused specifically on giving as it relates to Honor Yoga’s continuous efforts to give back to the community. There are two campaigns that are present in the studios during this season of giving. This includes “Hands Across Honor” and the “Yamas Project.” The Hands Across Honor campaign affords our members an opportunity to display and share things for which they are grateful. This is facilitated by purchasing a Hand to Write exercise in which they write 5 things that they are grateful for, and they, ultimately, will end up being displayed in their local Honor. All proceeds go to the Honor Yoga Foundation. This campaign runs until the end of November. Honor’s Yama’s Project gives our members an opportunity to purchase something from our Yama’s tree which will all be displayed in all of the Honor studios for a local family in need. This campaign runs till the end of December. Please join us during this very special month of giving. Certainly, the warmest wishes go out to you and your families during this warm holiday season.
