Caylar is the development and admissions director at St Andrews Episcopal School. St. Andrews helps young people define who they want to be when they grow up. Kids who are younger 3 years old can begin school there.  Their programs run through 8th Grade.  Students then choose between another private school, public school, or even a boarding school. Morris Massey talked about the 3 stages of psychological development. 0-6 Imprinting 7-13 Modeling 14-22 Socialization Success is different for each person.  Each child is guided to find their own definition of success.  Any positive growth toward my goals is success. Who has inspired you? My mom has inspired me. She was a single mom of 2 and worked very hard to provide for us.  That work ethic and drive were very inspirational.  She went back to school and got her education giving us a great example. If I want something, I have to work hard to go get it.  We live into whatever standard we set for ourselves. What is something that keeps you up at night? It really isn’t stress.  It is more that I want to improve the systems that are in place to make organizations more successful that I am involved in.  I am always looking for ways to make improvements.  I just want to know what to do to move forward. To sleep better at night, ask yourself what you would feel like if everything was going perfect.  Then hold thee feeling and drift off to sleep. What advice would you have for the people who are listening to this podcast? There is both small success and big success.  It is often better to focus on small successes that can be steps toward your larger goals.
