Eddie Gallen from Belfast but living in Madrid did his first Marathon in Dublin back in 1982.  He followed that with a few more Marathons before taking on his first Ultra Marathon in 1995.  This was a 100Km race in Madrid.In 1998 he discovered the time based 24hr race and in 2007 he made his International Debut when representing Ireland in the IAU 24-hr European Championships in Madrid.  Since then Eddie has gone on to represent Ireland in 8 European &amp; 9 World Championships with the highlight being his Captaincy of Team Ireland when the World Championships were held in his native Belfast.In this Podcast we discuss his journey and his motivation along with the training and mindset that has earned him the name Steady Eddie.--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/johnoregan777/message
