It was a great to catch up with Josh Gratton, he’s a great person who’s had to battle for every opportunity that he’s earned throughout his hockey journey. Josh was un-drafted to the OHL where he played 3 years, he was un-drafted to the NHL where he played over 80 games and went on to play over 15 years of professional hockey. Josh talks about his hockey journey and some of the lessons he learned along the way, he shares some great insight into his evolution from a young Jr player to a true professional. It’s no secret that Josh’s work ethic is unparalleled, that combined with his team first mentality and willingness to defend teammates gave him small opportunities that he took full advantage of. Josh opens up about the cost of being a tough player and how concussions and mental health eventually caught up to him. He discuss’ the stigma around mental health and the roller coaster ride it can take you on. He shares some great coping methods that he uses to help him keep his mental and physical health in check. I always love chatting with Josh, he’s an awesome guy who always has some thoughtful pieces of advice. We hope you enjoy the episode!
