A moment too where we wanted to be inspired and to learn and to do something that wasn't work, or just existing. Used to so much exposure to the brilliant minds of the interior design world, I felt stagnant and yes, like all of us did, a little lonely. So I decided to reach out to my network and invite them to join me for a virtual Tea for To where we discussed all things design, and life (in lockdown and outside of it). Over the series I talk to a broad range of brilliant and bold designers, artists and makers from across the globe and who impart a little of their expert knowledge and invariable humour. Tea for Two with Amanda Lindroth

Growing up in Palm Beach in the 1970s, Amanda experienced Florida at its most magical. The style, the architecture, the climate – it would all imprint on her, taking root and blossoming throughout the years. Through her 20s, Amanda worked at WWD and W magazine, as well as PR for Gucci and other luxury brands in New York, Paris and London. In her 30s, she moved to Nassau full-time and applied her design eye to her own home, then to properties associated with her husband’s development company, and eventually for friends who became clients (and, of course, clients who became friends). Throughout her work, she kept the focus on breezy sophistication and vibrant layers of texture and color – the hallmarks of inviting spaces to host family and friends.

Designer Amanda Lindroth joined us all the way from the Bahamas to chat with us about her home collection, book, her interior design work, and all of the joys (and difficulties) of decorating homes in your favorite vacation spots. We even talk about the Dunmore Hotel where she used our upholstery pieces. You'll be shocked to hear all that goes into maintaining this beautiful property! Why decorating for people’s second and third homes can often be easier, but they still may get sticker shock when it comes to tax and duties of the island!   How Amanda navigates doing business in so many locations, and having a team all over the world.   Setting a tone for using timeless antiques with a modern and contemporary touch.   The places to spend money and really invest in great quality pieces, and what areas we can super glue it all together.   Amanda’s thrift shop mentality suites life in the Bahamas well, and it’s not easy to replace things so she pays attention to every single thing she brings in and how she can reuse and recycle.
