Hey Friends! I’m so excited about today’s episode and it is a special one! On the show today, I’m joined by my good friend, and Called Creatives Co-founder Lisa Whittle. This episode was quite vulnerable for me but I just loved our conversation! We take a deep dive into why we need to find the good during the hard seasons, how to allow God to work in us during setbacks for bigger and better comebacks, and how to navigate through some of those “good“ hard seasons like loss, grief, and jealousy. Can you imagine living life led by managed feelings versus out-of-control emotions? Lisa and I go over how that’s possible and what the difference is. Listen in to hear us talk about : How to shift the narrative from “what if” to “what is,” so that God can bring us back in a different way How to know when God is speaking to us Allowing God to manage our feelings so they come back under our control. Favorite quotes: 1. Whatever draws us to the good is good for us. 2. We need to make peace with a life that has gone rogue on us. In this episode I answer this question: 1. I feel so uncomfortable with self-promotion. How can I build my business in a way that doesn’t feel “icky”? (42:03) Great things we discussed: 1. Lisa Whittle 2. The Hard Good 3. Warby Parker 4. Maverick City Music 5. Jungle Cruise 6. Pillow Slides 7. Called Creatives 8. Standing Strong Hope you loved this episode! My guest for The Happy Hour #421 is my dear friend, Lisa Whittle. Lisa Whittle is an author, speaker and ministry leader. She has written several books and bible studies, including her newest book The Hard Good, which releases next week! Lisa dives into grief and loss, and the reality that life is hard and good. The thing about “hard” is that it doesn’t care if it’s an inconvenient time or if you’ve invested so much into something - it just comes because it’s a part of life. But we also have to be reminded of what is good. And I love when Lisa says “God is good - it’s who He is. So things that draw us to Him are good for us.” Connect with Jamie Facebook // Twitter // Instagram // YouTube GET ALL THE LINKS FROM THE SHOW HERESee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

There is a world in front of you that needs to be served.""It is to your benefit to be exercising your gifts and practicing.""Your leadership will only be as good as your relationship with Jesus is."RESOURCES MENTIONEDJesus Over Everything by Lisa WhittleJesus Over Everything PodcastMinistry StrongRevolution by George BarnaThe Wounded Healer by Henri NouwenCalled Creatives

What's The Truth
I’m excited to share with you my talk with author, speaker, and podcast host Lisa Whittle about a topic like none I’ve shared before – the lie that it’s our job to call people out. In this episode we’re discussing cancel culture, how to post on social media without falling into the trap of bullying, the cost of seeking popularity, and the desire for Jesus over social media followers. How to Partner with God with Lisa Whittle interviewing me
The Alli Worthington Show
It's another takeover! And today, I'm with my friend, fellow writer/speaker, and Called Creatives Co-founder Lisa Whittle. We are tackling why most women say they don't feel strong, what it means to weed through all the competing voices in your life, and how to move forward when you want to hold back. We also talk about the huge, devastating decision that I had to make last fall- and whether or not I regret it. Lisa is such a truth-teller and we bring the heat in this conversation. If you feel like you're ready to Stand Strong, but don't know how to get out of your own way- this one's for you. We chat about: 1. How self-doubt hinders us from moving forward 2. The mind shift of partnering with God 3. The different type of people we need in our lives Favorite quotes: 1. When we begin to take God seriously, we will take ourselves seriously.2. We need to think about God partnering with us in our daily activities. If he's not going to fail us and he's not going to abandon us let's shift that and say he's going to strengthen us. He's going to give us everything we need. We don't have to feel strong, we don't have to feel confident, we don't have to feel like we know what we're doing everyday. but if we lean into him and let him give us that little boost to get going, and wisdom to know what to do, we will have the strength to put one foot in front of the other. 3. The only way we're going to get strong is to make sure that we get out of our own way. Because yes, adversity holds us back, but I think so many times self-doubt holds women back and we just don't start moving forward and do what God wants us to do.4. We have this idea that yes, God will partner with pastors, or God will partner with people working in a non-profit on the other side of the world feeding hungry children but God works with all of us, and all of our work matters. 5. When we think about whatever we're doing in our life, however, we're living, whatever the work is that God put in hand at that moment that day it is a partnership with him because everything we do that makes this world a better place that helps people is fulfilling his purpose for them. Great things we discussed: 1. Called Creatives 2. Called Creatives Book Deal Training 3. Tenet 4. American Dirt 5. Standing Strong Hope you loved this episode!
