The Avenue of Mindset - LIGHT - One Day Soulful Retreat in Texas Cohosts Shannan Hale and Annie Vovan- Recap
The Avenue Mama Podcast
After less than 72 hours in Texas, I came home with a full heart after co-hosting "LIGHT- One day Soulful Retreat" and the addiction to saying, "y'all." This episode is a recap of the retreat and where the imperfections were, and what happens when women rally around each other without fear or judgment. A huge thank you goes out to Shannan Hale who had the vision to create this event and inviting over 50 women to her brand new home (of just 3 weeks) and inviting me on board. This is magic when like minded women gather and hold space for discomfort, growth and healing. I can't wait for the next retreat! Sign up here to be notified when we do it again!

Light + Life Live
This episode I interview pharmacist turned photographer/mom empowerer Annie Vovan. Annie started the mom community Avenue Mama, after becoming a mom and finding she was lacking community. We talked a lot of different things- how she realized how important community was after having a devastating year full of loss and grief. We talked about leaping from a safe career to your passion and what she’s learned about photographing women. Annie talks about how to put a value on her time, what surprised her about being a mom and how her childhood baggage came up when she had kids. Annie talked about asking for help and how you’re not strong for doing everything on your own. She also talked about self care and how important that is. She opened up about her experience with a miscarriage and her struggles with infertility which she’s so willing to talk about to comfort other women. Lastly we talked about how to do something your family isn’t supportive, her advice to other moms, how she helps other moms discover their passion in their own businesses, and so much more.

Ep12 - Redefining your life and career at any age with Annie Vovan
Today is a super special episode to me because I am interviewing one of my best friends, Annie Vovan. Annie was my first mama friend when I had my daughter and since that time we have been through so much together. Annie is one of the most inspiring women I know. She is a full-time mom raising two beautiful children, works as a photographer empowering women by showcasing mamas and girl bosses, she created @avenuemama: an Instagram platform to create a community for mothers, and she manages to be very active in giving back through charities. I seriously don’t know how she does it, and I worship the ground she walks on. Today we talk about: -Growing up the youngest of 7 children in an immigrant family -Working as a pharmacist before fully throwing herself into photography -Getting married in her late 30’s and being a mom of “advanced maternal age” -Redefining her life and career in her late 30’s -Her decision to leave pharmacy to pursue photography -Why she focuses on mamas and girl bosses in her photos -Where she got the idea for Avenue Mama -Experiencing multiple traumatic losses in her life and how she has been able to push through -The importance of self-care, and her personal self-care practices You will be so inspired by this rockstar mama. Her perseverance in the face of adversity is so empowering. If you are a mama and are looking for a supportive, funny, loving community check out @avenuemama.
