The Indian CHRO – How to build the Talent Pool According to the latest study by Spencer Stuart only 9% CHROs of the 160 companies that were analyzed served on a board of directors. That number seems to be at odds with the importance of the HR function in a post Pandemic world. That should get reflected in a higher number of organizations putting the employee's voice in the boardroom. Contrary to the popular perception that HR has more women leaders than other organizational functions, only 31% of the 160 companies studied have a woman CHRO.   In this episode, Neha and Abhijit discuss the findings of this study and explore what may be different ways to have more effective CHROs and enhance that representation in the boardroom. Learn about the three organizations that have come to be known as “Academy Companies for HR” and understand what makes them so. What can be an easy way to build business acumen in the workforce?

The episode is known for offering creative and yet practical solutions to workplace issues that everyone is talking about.

  • The availability of smartphones and the rise of social media has ensured that today communications are instant and continuous. Gone are the days when management had to communicate only once in a while, talking to shareholders or even employees- once a year or once every month.
  • Earlier, people were happy to keep working for the same organization for their entire careers. What they learnt and specialized in was good enough to last them an entire lifetime. All that has changed today. The new workforce wants to learn, experiment and move on to newer experiences.
  • Creative inputs have for many centuries come from “gig workers”. It’s only that now the term has come into vogue. This is also because work is getting skewed towards being more creative, rather than mechanical, since mechanical work has been largely taken over by automation and robotics.

These and more insights from the ground in this great episode of TalentWise.
