My Chat Opening Cúige Poitín with Brendan Carty from Killowen

Whiskey Chats

Join me for My Chat, opening Cúige Poitín, with Brendan Carty from Killowen. This was a project by Brendan, to 'rest' a peated poitín in 5 different beer barrels for 10 weeks. There were 190 sets of this wonderful set and I was privileged to open my with the Master Distiller himself.   "This unique wood seasoning experiment combines historic mashbill poitín with five distinctive beers from Ireland’s bygone Cúige (provinces), to create a limited series that celebrates the un-rivalled spirit of Ireland." a Conversation with Brendan Carty | Cornwall, Advertising, School Board

Du GOOD Podcast

This week we have a conversation with our good friend Brendan Carty. He's a loving husband, a father of two daughters, a Creative Director for a creative agency called Thinkmojo, and he's also part of the School Board in Cornwall, NY.  In this podcast we dive into a variety of different subjects. We talk about a lovely little town in NY called Cornwall and how we got here. We also talk about the advertising industry, how it has changed and evolved through the years. Brendan has been working remotely for years, a move that now seems all too common, but that wasn't always the case. Lastly we talk about the new normal when it comes to education and the different steps the school board and the district are taking to help our kids go back to school in a safe environment. My Chat with Brendan Carty from Killowen Distillery

Whiskey Chats

Join me for My Chat with Brendan Carty from Killowen Distillery.  I made the long pilgrimage from Cork to Co. Down and visited Brendan at the smallest distillery in Ireland. He gave me a personal tour of his maturation warehouse, boutique distillery, fermentation yard, malting house and his office... but don't worry, they're all within 10ft of each other. I had a blast, have a listen in. My drop of the day was.....warm poitin, straight from the spout and newly barreled non-GI compliant peated Pot Still!  https://www.killowendistillery.com/ I hope you enjoy our chat, Sláinte.

Episode 2.4 – Killowen Distillery – Founder Brendan Carty

Potstilled Radio

Sit down with us this week as we chat to the founder of one of the smallest distilleries on the island of Ireland, Brendan Carty. Find out how this young man from the Mourne Mountains went from Architect Down Under to building his own distillery in Ireland. Focusing exclusively on Single Pot Still whiskey, gin and poitín, Brendan is set to make some waves in the resurrection of some fantastic, historic mashbills. Furthermore, Brendan tells us about the trails and tribulations about being Ireland’s only direct fired distillery and what breaks he was able to take advantage of being across the border in the North and under the UK system rather than the Republic’s system. You can listen to this episode below or check out Potstilled Radio on iTunes as well as Spotify, & Acast.
