Season 21/22 Preview with Gregor MacGregor

Forever Bristol City Podcast

Gregor took time out of a busy week to speak with us about how he sees City's prospects for the upcoming season. We talk team selection and end up with something that might be considered a 4-2-2-2 and he's very bullish in his assessment of City gathering 10 points from the first 5 games. For me, anything above 6 would be a bonus! He gets some stick on the forum but he's the best we've had for a while on what is an apology for a local newspaper. I'm in the camp that feels he should be given a little more respect by Nigel in the press conferences. If the relationship is tense now just imagine what it will be like if we're in the bottom 6 in mid-September?

Gregor MacGregor

Citation Needed

General Gregor MacGregor (24 December 1786 – 4 December 1845) was a Scottish soldier, adventurer, and confidence trickster who attempted from 1821 to 1837 to draw British and French investors and settlers to "Poyais", a fictional Central American territory that he claimed to rule as "Cazique". Hundreds invested their savings in supposed Poyaisian government bonds and land certificates, while about 250 emigrated to MacGregor's invented country in 1822–23 to find only an untouched jungle; more than half of them died. MacGregor's Poyais scheme has been called one of the most brazen confidence tricks in history.
