Look Up to Wise UpLuke 16:1-15The Parable of the Dishonest Manager16 He also said to the disciples, “There was a rich man who had a manager, and charges were brought to him that this man was wasting his possessions. 2 And he called him and said to him, ‘What is this that I hear about you? Turn in the account of your management, for you can no longer be manager.’ 3 And the manager said to himself, ‘What shall I do, since my master is taking the management away from me? I am not strong enough to dig, and I am ashamed to beg. 4 I have decided what to do, so that when I am removed from management, people may receive me into their houses.’ 5 So, summoning his master's debtors one by one, he said to the first, ‘How much do you owe my master?’ 6 He said, ‘A hundred measures[a] of oil.’ He said to him, ‘Take your bill, and sit down quickly and write fifty.’ 7 Then he said to another, ‘And how much do you owe?’ He said, ‘A hundred measures[b] of wheat.’ He said to him, ‘Take your bill, and write eighty.’ 8 The master commended the dishonest manager for his shrewdness. For the sons of this world[c] are more shrewd in dealing with their own generation than the sons of light. 9 And I tell you, make friends for yourselves by means of unrighteous wealth,[d] so that when it fails they may receive you into the eternal dwellings.10 “One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much. 11 If then you have not been faithful in the unrighteous wealth, who will entrust to you the true riches? 12 And if you have not been faithful in that which is another's, who will give you that which is your own? 13 No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.”The Law and the Kingdom of God14 The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, heard all these things, and they ridiculed him. 15 And he said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God.

06/17/18 - Baptism: What Is It Good for? - Reverend Mike Glodo

GracePoint Plant City - Sermons

Baptism: What Is It Good for?Colossians 2:6-15Alive in Christ6 Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, 7 rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.8 See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ. 9 For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily,10 and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority. 11 In him also you were circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, 12 having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead. 13 And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, 14 by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. 15 He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.

04/29/18 - How Jesus Runs The Church - Reverend Mike Glodo

GracePoint Plant City - Sermons

How Jesus Runs The Church1 Peter 5:1-5Shepherd the Flock of God1So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed: 2 shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; 3 not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock. 4 And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory. 5 Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

Isaiah 66:7-14 English Standard Version (ESV)Rejoice with Jerusalem7 “Before she was in labor    she gave birth;before her pain came upon her    she delivered a son.8 Who has heard such a thing?    Who has seen such things?Shall a land be born in one day?    Shall a nation be brought forth in one moment? For as soon as Zion was in labor    she brought forth her children.9 Shall I bring to the point of birth and not cause to bring forth?”    says the Lord;“shall I, who cause to bring forth, shut the womb?”    says your God.10 “Rejoice with Jerusalem, and be glad for her,    all you who love her;rejoice with her in joy,    all you who mourn over her;11 that you may nurse and be satisfied    from her consoling breast;that you may drink deeply with delight    from her glorious abundance.”a]">[a]12 For thus says the Lord:“Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river,    and the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream;and you shall nurse, you shall be carried upon her hip,    and bounced upon her knees.13 As one whom his mother comforts,    so I will comfort you;    you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.14 You shall see, and your heart shall rejoice;    your bones shall flourish like the grass;and the hand of the Lord shall be known to his servants,    and he shall show his indignation against his enemies.
