Very busy #WouldYouRatherWednesday edition of GCR presented by Glory Days Grill. Would you rather see Mike Tyson come out of retirement to fight a slappy or Michael Jordan activate himself for the rest of the season? Early in Hour 1, former MLB GM/SiriusXM analyst Steve Phillips joined us to discuss why he thinks momentum is shifting towards there being an MLB season, how much losing minor league season will hurt the Orioles and more. Later in Hour 1, we celebrated the release of the new PressBox print edition celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Orioles winning the 1970 World Series-Boog Powell joined us to reflect. Early in Hour 2, former Loyola lacrosse star Pat Spencer (Boys' Latin) checked in to discuss his decision to pursue a professional basketball career. At the bottom of Hour 2, we caught up with our friend Rob Long from 105.7 The Fan/MASN to play #WouldYouRatherWednesday, late in Hour 2, SSG Robert Florence joined us to talk about the U.S. Army's Baltimore Battalion getting involved in the E-Sports world and we wrapped the show by chatting with Ravens edge rusher Jaylon Ferguson about the team remaining committed to him and his development this offseason.
Pat Spencer: From Tewaaraton winner to NBA prospect? The phrase in itself seems farfetched, but with each day, Spencer pushes closer to making it a reality. The former Loyola men’s lacrosse star decided to spend a fifth year playing basketball at Northwestern, a school competing in the top league in all of college basketball. After a successful 2019 season in which he led the Wildcats in assists, Spencer had a decision to make. Would he pursue a career in professional lacrosse — where he’d surely be one of the best players in the world — or make a career playing his favorite sport, basketball? Last week, Spencer signed with Tandem, an agency aimed at getting players exposure to the NBA. For now, Spencer, the two-sport star, will try to make his childhood dreams come true. He spoke with Paul Carcaterra about his multi-sport upbringing, following his passion at Northwestern and why he’ll always have love for the lacrosse community.

Smith joined us in studio to discuss the future of the Orioles, Preakness, the arena and sports betting in the city. And we wrapped the show with a visit from our pal Booker Corrigan to discuss the weekend that was in lacrosse-including Loyola taking down Hopkins, Mount St. Mary's shocking Towson, Maryland allowing a lot of goals but scoring even more, etc.
