The Automotive Technology and Automotive Collision Repair programs at Penta Career Center in Perrysburg, Ohio, are hosting a Cruise-In car show on Sept. 25 from 5-8 p.m., on the Penta campus located at 9301 Buck Road.All types of vehicles and motorcycles are welcome to participate. Vehicle owners are admitted free of charge as long as they bring a non-perishable food item (e.g., peanut butter, boxed macaroni, cereal, or canned meat) or a personal hygiene item (e.g., soap, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, etc.) to donate to the Penta Pantry.The pantry helps Penta students and their families who are in need of assistance.Other activities that will take place at the Cruise-In include music and door prizes such as car care kits, gift certificates and products from several Penta programs.Students who are members of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America will have activities for children called the “Kids Garage” during the Cruise-In. Penta Cosmetology students will provide haircuts for a $5 minimum donation that will benefit the Penta Pantry. Food will be available for purchase from several food trucks.Tours of Penta’s Automotive Technology and Automotive Collision Repair programs will also be available.In addition, awards will be presented to vehicle owners in the following categories: People’s Choice, Penta Alumni, Superintendent’s Choice, and Best Motorcycle.The event is organized by Penta’s Automotive Technology and Automotive Collision Repair programs and SkillsUSA, a leadership organization for career-technical education students.
BRING ON THE SOUTHERN CHARM” SCHOLARSHIP DINNER AND SILENT AUCTION!The Culinary Arts programs at Penta Career Center are hosting an annual scholarship dinner and silent auction on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. in the Commons area on the Penta campus, 9301 Buck Road in Perrysburg Township. Theme for the event is “Bring on the Southern Charm.” Proceeds from the dinner and silent auction benefit a general scholarship fund and the Hirzel Scholarship fund at Penta. The scholarships assist students with either post-secondary tuition or tools. The Silent Auction begins at 5:30 p.m. Cost of the dinner is $75 per person or $500.00 for a table of eight. Special guest musician, Dave Carpenter, will provide live entertainment. Prizes and games will also be available. The emcee is Fred LeFebvre from News Radio 1370 WSPD. Bring on the Southern Charm features an extensive menu including gourmet appetizers and multiple gourmet food stations featuring every Southern recipe you can imagine. The Culinary Arts students are working together with instructors Chef Janea Makowski, Chef Jim Rhegness and Chef Sarah Sadlier to prepare the dishes. The Silent Auction will feature items created by Penta students and staff along with donations from area businesses. Reservations are required.
