Bob Hope brought so much more than entertainment when he travelled the globe entertaining our troops. In a time before technology he provided healing, home and yes, hope. In return, Bob Hope received hundreds of thousands of letters of gratitude from the soldiers, nurses, spouses and parents sacrificing so much and longing for comfort and peace. Moved and inspired by their letters, Bob wrote back often and a deeply moving collection of these exchanges is featured in a new book by Martha Bolton and Linda Hope called Dear Bob: Bob Hope’s Wartime Correspondence with the G.I.’s of World War II.Martha wrote for Bob Hope for fifteen years and it is her great honor to share this compilation.
