RHODC's Mary Amons (on RHODC Reboot, Andy Cohen, Bravo & Current Dallas Housewives Season)
BEHIND THE VELVET ROPE
The Real Housewives of D.C.’s Mary Amons steps back Behind The Rope. Mary is watching this season of The Real Housewives of Dallas. Yes RHODC is watching RHOD. Mary and David are also real life friends with many of the RHOD such as Jen Davis, D’Andra Simmons, and LeeAnne Locken. Mary and David talk about these friendships and what these women are like in real life when the cameras are not rolling. They also talk about what happens when you are friends with both LeeAnne and D’Andra, two Housewives who notoriously don’t get along. What happens if they both wanna hang and grab drinks the same night? Who do you choose? Mary also chats about this season of RHOD sharing her opinions on other newcomer Tiffany Moon, how important is it to eat chicken feet, how well Bravo dealt with Brandi Redmond’s "racially incentive”, for lack of a better word, viral video, and just how the franchise is holding up with the absence of OG LeeAnne Locken. Speaking of LeeAnne, Mary and David chat about whether Bravo did the right thing in letting LeeAnne go and is there a double standard considering other Bravo cast members still have a job. Of course, David didn’t let Mary go without hearing the RHODC gossip update. Mary fills us in on all the off camera drama and updates going on in her life as well as in the lives of Lynda Erkiletian, Cat Ommanney, Staci Turner and last, but certainly not least, Michaele Salahi Schon. Mary gives us her thoughts about the too soon end to RHODC, Andy Cohen’s recent tweets with Meghan McCain about a desired RHODC reboot, and, in today’s political climate, what would that even look like. Finally, Mary updates us on what she is up to these days which includes a look at her brand new Blog Hippy Chica!!! Take a break from the Real Housewives of DC Marathon (no really, its airing today on Bravo) to catch up with one of the five RHODC cast members, Mary Amons. Calling from her sprawling family farm in Southern Maryland, Mary takes time out of her busy quarantine to chat with The Rope about her time on the show. After discussing the current political atmosphere in DC, Mary explains that RHODC was originally supposed to be titled, “Inside Washington” and not part of the Housewives Franchise. Mary explains the difficulties in casting a show with wives in the political sector, the added layer of NDAs and confidential information and how the show ultimately morphed into a part of the Housewives franchise. Of course, the conversation turns to the infamous Salahi White House crash and the implications, not only for them, but the entire Real Housewives Of DC cast, franchise and Bravo as a network from this one event. Did you know RHODC production was shut down for several weeks while Congress and The White House launched a thorough investigation into this breach of US security. Luckily the show went on, bringing us 5 amazing women who have earned their place in Housewives history as one of the only Bravo shows ever involved in a nationwide political, for lack of a better word, scandal. This is an episode you don’t want to miss!! @maryamons @behindvelvetrope @davidyontefhttps://www.patreon.com/behindthevelvetrope See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Mary Amons appeared on Real Housewives of DC, which aired in Bravo in 2010. Developed as the fifth installment of The Real Housewives franchise, it aired for one season and documented the personal and professional lives of five women in the Washington, D.C area. It was the first in the franchise that one of its U.S. installments failed to be renewed. Mary talks about being cast for the show, the infamous White House crashers, and her new life in Dallas.
